My picture is a photo of the Bodhisattva Guanyin (Kannon) taken through the mist. Guanyin is the Buddhist Goddess of Mercy. To quote Wikipedia: "Guan Yin promises to answer the cries and pleas of all beings and to liberate all beings from their own karmic woes". She is also the protector of women and children, a fertility goddess capable of granting children, the champion of the unfortunate, the sick, the disabled, the poor, and those in trouble, and the protector of fishermen, sailors, and generally people who are out at sea.
