writes:my boyfriend just broke up with me out of the blue. (yesterday he was talking to me about going to his dads for dinner and making christmas lists, and the next day i saw him he broke up with me) he says that he feels like nothing has changed between us and that we just feel like friends still. he says that he hasnt lost interest in me, and that he thinks im an awesome friend but he thinks thats all its going to be.he kept telling me that i deserved better than what he was giving me.i just dont understand where this all came from. any thoughts?

 It can always be confusing and hurtful when someone breaks up with you. My guess is that there was just no spark there for him, am guessing he has tried but it just did not work for him and he just see's you as a friend. Sometimes we can't help what we feel and I guess he is just doing the best thing for the both of you. You just need to accept now that he does not want to be with you and move forward with your life. Give yourself some time to accept it and go out with friends and enjoy yourself.

How long have you been together? Unfortunately a couple of weeks before the holidays is a common time for people to break up.
I would accept what he says and keep your distance until after the holidays. This will give you time to heal and move on, and give him some space/time. I wouldn't wait on him, but if with space and time he changes his mind and contacts you, then you will have the perspective to see whether you would like to be with him or not.

It's most likely been coming for some time. People don't usually wake up one day and decide that they want to end a relationship. I think that your boyfriend has been thinking about this for some time, and today was the day he chose to end it.
I can't tell you what the final thing was that made him change his mind, but I can say that he'll have been thinking about this for a while.
Sorry you went through this. Time to move on and, like he says, find someone who can give you what you're really looking for.
