writes:i guess this is a question for the ladies really although any advice would be good.two weeks ago i had unprotected sex, and 2 weeks before that, im not on the pill or any form of contraception so after the last time i went to the doctors and got the morning after pill. my period is due this week and is like clockwork, never late! only for the past 5 days my breasts have been very tender and ive had something down there but not a full period, its very very light and almost like spotting? Would it be wise to get a pregnancy test as I was told that the morning after pill is only 86% effective! (or so it said in the guide book)can anyone help me to ease my mind?

 well as you know you really need to get pregnancy test.The results are accurate when it is 3wks the conception of the baby is already develop.you cannot relly on signs because in medicine we call it presumptive face it may or may not.Just dont panic.

 tender breasts and spotting are all common with periods and due to the fact you have just taken the morning after pill it could distrupt your period slightly, on the other hand if you are that concerned do a test anyway they are cheap enough now adays and it might put your mind at rest.

Nobody can ease your mind you have to do a test I'm afraid.Sore breasts and spotting can be a sign of pregnancy.But it could also be a sign of your period coming.Worrying can affect your monthly cycle really badly.So stop getting in a state you have to deal with it and face it head on.Knowledge is power and if you are then you can work it out it's not the end of the world. if your not which I suspect is what your hoping for ,then next time if you can't be good be careful!
