Hey hun,

If you miss a pill then it will wake up the ovaries and this takes 7 days, which is way they say to use condoms as well for 7 days from when you miss the pill and start again (sperm can live for up to seven days) As it takes 7 days to bring them back to sleep again. So you are chancing this. Though the risk depends on how where you were in your pill packet, in the middle you are risking it but not that big, missed pills at start or end of the pack is a much bigger risk, remember if you do miss a pill, then do not haave a 7 day break on your next packet, carry on.

I find this all out last night as had a pill check and this is what the doctor told me, so hope this helps.

YummyMummy agony auntYou have put yourself at risk of falling pregnant for the next wee or so.

I was ill back in January and was told by my doctor when I first went on the pill that if I'm ill then I should use other forms of protection for a week after I'm better and have started taking the pill again. I'm now 7 months pregnant.

If you are having sex I would get you guy to wear a condom for about 2 weeks after you started taking your pill again.

stina agony auntHello Hurley,

Yes - there is an increased chance for you to get pregnant on the days that you missed the pill. Look at the packet of information that came with your pills for more information - it will be the most reliable. If you still have questions, you should speak with your doctor. You can also ask about other forms of birth control, such as the ring (change once a month), that don't require you to take a pill everyday if you tend to forget to take them.

Take care.

flower girl agony auntIf you missed your pill two days in a row, then it's pretty much like starting the pill from the beginning again, you would then have to use added contraceptive for the next seven days to get the most protaction from your pill.

Yes people do get pregnant on the birth control, but that is why they do state that they are not 100% effective, but it is not that much of a common occurence.

Take care.xx.

If you had sex on those days you would not be protected from pregnancy, so yes you could get pregnant then. If you didnt have sex then try not to worry....i think if you continue to take your pills every day, you will be ok after 14 days? im not too sure but i think thats right. talk to your doctor to get the best answer.

as for how effective the pill is, it has a 99% effective rate if you take it as directed, that means dont miss any pills and follow the instructions on the packet- such as some pills tell u to take them at the same time every day. i think its always best to use a condom to be on the safe side.

Yes you can get pregnant on them 2 days - whilst taking the pill if you miss a day out the pill doesn't take affect properly for another 7 days.

It does happen that people get pregnant on the pill, but I'm not sure about what the likelyhood is.
