I am in High School and we used to text a lot because we didn't have any classes together but liked each other.( We would flirt with each other, when we texted.) Anyway, suddenly, he quit responding a lot. Then he would text me "hi" but then not respond a few texts after that. I don't know if I've done something wrong or if it's because he's turning 18 soon...I really don't understand, and I think I am being overly concerned about it.

 He's probably taken the texts as far as he can, maybe he wants more from you,like conversation. Lots of texts can dry up after a while. He may have simply run out of credit.
