A female United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

Hey. I'm a 21 year old female. I have a boyfriend that I love a lot ! We've been together for 4 years now and he thinks I'm cheating on him with my ex!! He doesn't like when I talk to guys, and I don't like when he talks to girls either! He does it all the time and says they're friends. On day my cousin texed him because I couldn't text back I was in the pool and she wasn't so I asked her to and she said I was in the pool with my ex. She was joking and she made that very clear to him. A few minutes later I see he changed his status and everything on fb!! Ever since then all we do is argue about this!! He says he loves me and wants to work things out but then he starts arguing with me and accusing me of something I never did!! Shouldn't I be the one thinking he'd do that to me since he talks to a million different girls? I trust him but sometimes I doubt he feels the same. He's not the same anymore. He's always with his friend and he tries to make me jealous by saying "that girl is hot" "this girl is sexy" and it's working!! I miss him and the way we were before :( helpppp me !

btw: He's always been VERYYY jealous.

So what should I do? Should I keep trying or leave him alone and move on? I don't want to lose him :(

usually, when a partner accuse the other partner of cheating, actually the situation is reversed.

be careful.. i see this often.. he is looking for a way to make you look bad so by the end of the relationship, he will come out as the good guy with cheating gf.

good luck..

Fatherly Advice agony auntMove on, he is either cheating on you and projecting his actions to you, or he is slipping into an abusive behavior pattern. Either one is bad for you. Get out before the beatings start.

I would give him one big reality check! oh he can talk to girls! girls! girls! what a one way dawg, and a control freak!i mean a joke is a joke and no your cousin should have never said that! some men take it very seriously. well a wanna be man! real men will believe you and say that wasn't funny. sounds like he's trying to make a big deal out of something so triva,so he can continue flirting w/ other girls are making comments around you. oh and it be ok just because that one Lil joke.what a one way jerk who has no respect for you and neither do you to allow him to treat you that way! you want my opinion? i would say you know what honey bunny 2 can play your...........

stupid game~! you don't own me so you can straighten up or ship out!and iam not playing with you. don't be his patsy, have some respect for yourself. love shouldn't hurt. be a strong woman and feel proud of who you are not how some jerk makes you feel. and so if he doesn't like it to bad to sad let him get a life! and treat the next girl the same because he's going too! he has some isssues w/ in himself and don't care about how he treats or hurts others.

Best Wishes 2 u!

A male reader, WYCowboy Australia +, writes (10 August 2010):

I know this may not be what you wanna hear, but in my last 2 relationships, out of no where she would accuse me of cheating and lying, which wasnt true and I worked as hard as I could to prove to them that I wasnt. When I finally got sick of it and ended it, I found out that she had been cheated on me. Ive heard this same situation from other people to and it seems like as soon as someone starts cheating they loose faith in their partner. I dont know if its because they think theyre doing the same thing or if its cause they figure the other person wont find out, i dont know. Now Im not saying that this is the case in your situation, Im simply giving you a heads up

A female reader, OhGetReal United States +, writes (10 August 2010):

OhGetReal agony auntI think you both are too immature to have a serious long term relationship and this one has run it's course.

If you play childish games to try and make each other jealous then there isn't much left to the attraction or to the relationship. More than likely after 4 years of dating when you started such relationship at such a young age, you both are ready to move on, you've outgrown each other....and your boyfriend seems to be looking for an excuse to ditch you perhaps so he can finally date some other women without feeling guilty.

I agree it's time to ditch him and move on. All the signs are there...he's immature.

A female reader, Moo's Mum New Zealand +, writes (10 August 2010):

Moo's Mum agony auntFirst off what a bitchy thing your cousin did. Regardless of whether it was a joke it was in very bad taste. Second do you really want to spend the rest of your life with someone who questions your every move and becomes jealous when you talk to other men? People who are insecure like that only get worse and life is too short to deal with that kind of crap everyday. Ditch him and find someone who lets you be you.
