I'm 44 and had my tubes tied but hadnt had period in 2 months. i also had some slight bleeding after sex, when i wiped it was light in color and only when i wiped it last thru the day and was gone the next day but happend again after the next 2 times after sex but didnt last, i feel i have tired a lot more and noticing some bloating as and my pants being tighter on me than before. my bf says he has noticed my breasts seem to be a bit bigger, i feel i have been needing to urnite more than i normally would and notice i have been constipatd more than usual. i normaly have back aches but only on the right side but notice they're not only on the right side but my whole lower back. i have taken a home pregancy test and it was negative.

Could there be a possiblty I'm pregnant and if so can be and still have a negative home pregnancy test? i'm confused

So_Very_Confused agony aunttime for a visit to the doctor.

if you had your tubes just crimped it's possible they came uncrimped (that's the tied part)

if they were just cut it's possible they grew back

if they were just cauterized well that's better but still..

when I missed my first two periods (my body was getting ready for Peri-menopause) I went to the doctor and he asked me "could you be pregnant?" I looked at him and said "you tell me you tied my tubes" and he said "not pregnant" because he did all three.. he crimped then, cut them then cauterized them.... just to make sure....

sometimes we skip periods as our bodies make hormonal adjustments. on the other hand i have a friend who is now 12 weeks pregnant and just found out because she did NOT skip her first two periods when she got pregnant.

IF you are concerned you need to contact your doctor since anything is possible....

It is possible. Go to your doctor for a blood test and also to find out if something else may be wrong.

AuntyEm agony auntIt depends what sort of tubal ligation you had. Usually when 'tubes are tied' a small section of the tube is removed (about a centimetre) then both end of the tubes are stitched and sometimes the cut ends are quarterized. It's almost impossible for an egg to get through.

Is it possible you may have been pregnant before the ligation?

The best way to find out for sure is to do a test.
