i know this is nothing to do with relationships! but i was wondering if anyone could help me out, im seventeen years old and yeah im coming upto those years where im going to start going into town, clubs, big parties! and i have NO confidence at all! ive only ever had one boyfriend because i have such low self esteem! and i get really upset about it, im average build and height, but i hate my teeth! theyre all crookked and wonky, i have fangs man! i hate them. i never smile at all, and it even stops me talking to new people! a few years back, a family friend tickled me and i knocked a triangle out of my two front teeth, they were like this for about 6 years and i got them fixed last year! but she didnt do them straight so although they look better, i dont feel any different! the dentist i have is a real bitch! ive not even been back to see her since last july! shes horrid, talks to ya like dirt! but i was wondering if i could go private. do you have to be over 18 to go to a private dentist in the uk? and does anyone have any kind of idea how much it would cost for me to get them fixed? i need a filling, just the one and i deffinately need braces. i obviously dont have a clue what im talking about, because im not a dentist! but i was wondering if anyone had any ideas on costs for private dentists? i have about £600 to spend, do you think this will be enough? my parents said they'd help me out, but i cant help but think they wont be able to help me, or i wont have enough money! thanks if anyone knows :)

Without seeing your teeth, it would be impossible to say how much it would cost.

Anyone of any age can go private. It just costs far far far more.

Get your local yellow pages out and have a look at local dentists.

Mine cost £55 for an initial assessment (including a check up and everything) and then quoted for other work.

Call them up and see!

Good Luck!! xx
