Hey guys I just want to know that Ive done the right thing. I was in a sort of LDR with a guy who worked in the military. Before he went away we were kind of seeing each other but it wasnt serious. We kept in touch via facebook and texts but I know that he was seeing other girls where he was based. Anyway last month he came back down quite near to where I live for a 10 week course. He promised me that on one of the weekends he would come visit me and stay for the weekend. Obviously I was dead excited cos Im really into him, but he hasnt bothered to come see me. His excuse is that he has to go see his family or hes joined a football team and he needs to play every sunday. But hes still so flirty with me on facebook. When he saw another guy messaging me he went all jealous and stuff. He said he would love to be with me but the distance is too much. And I understand that.

I was looking on his page today and saw comments from other girls and I just realised that I cant be friends with him. It hurts too much. So I sent him a message explaining this. I was really nice about it and just said it was hard for me to friends but to take care etc etc. And then I blocked him. I did this so he couldnt reply because I feel if I get into a conversation with him I will just continue to hurt and still want him. I would rather not speak to him again and have him out of my life than in my life and messing me around.

I just want to know if other people would have done the same? Or could I have gone about this differently? Ive tried deleting him rather than blocking, and deleting his number, but we would always end up contacting each other somehow.
