Okay. I was wondering if anybody is good at defining/interpreting people's dreams?

My Dream:

I was in some class room, with all of my sophomore classmates. I had this little pink diary and slipped it into my bookbag. Then I heard someone say "Liberty is spoil..Mr.A head soil" (or something like that!)

Then, I was really embarrassed becaus that person read it from my pink diary! (Somehow she got a copy?!)

I was embarrassed because everyone found out that I had a crush on Mr.A.

I was so mad and completely mortified. Then, Mr.A came up to me hitting me playfully, saying "It's ok." (because the diary was from last year when I had him as my history teacher)

He kept saying it was ok, then he kissed me on my forehead. Well, then I kissed him...

Mr.A was shocked and walked away. I went up to the front of the class room. He was sitting at his desk, looking at me. I said "I love you.", choking the word "love." All of my classmates were like "Oh my god!" Mr.A had a hurt look on his face.I couldn't believe I said that, so I left. These two girls at my school came back from the bathroom, and closed the door. Well, then I decided to go back in. I wanted to slam the door, but I didn't. Mr.A looked at me again.

I started yelling out (because everyone was SO loud), "He doesn't care about me. He doesn't care about my Anorexia! He only listened to me!" Mr.A looked really hurt. He looked as if he were to cry. Then he got up, and I grabbed him by the hand.

Suddenly, he turned into this friend of mine, Sandra. Then, Mr.A appeared at the back of the class room. I started saying, "don't you love me?" Sandra kept saying "(my name) Don't!"

Then I was at some ice skating rink, and I told Mr.A to meet me there. I was skating (surprisingly well, since I suck at it! lol.) I decided I was ready for the bigger rink, so I skated on it. As I was skating, I saw Mr.A coming. I fell through the ice, and my sister jumped in to save me.

Well, that's it. I know dreams are just dreams, but this sounds like it has a meaning to it. I've recently told Mr.A that I have anorexia.

So, can anyone help me with this dream?

Melanne agony auntI just want to say that I don't believe dreams are anything to do with the psychic realms. They are to do with the unconcious mind that Freud looked at in his studies. Dreams are usually our deepest fears and anxieties, but they have absolutely nothing to do with the occult or psychic realms.

A female reader, AskEve United Kingdom +, writes (30 March 2007):

AskEve agony auntNow you've told your teacher about your anorexia, do you regret it? It seems from your dream that you do. You have a lot of feelings for this teacher so much so that you want everyone to know it, (hence you shouting I love you out loud in front of your classmates.) You don't care who knows yet deep down you're frightened who knows. You are totally mixed up just now and don't know what to do about this teacher. Your emotions are ready to explode but you've got to keep them intact.

I get the impression you want to be more daring with this teacher but your friend (Sandra) is telling you no, don't go there! She's right by the way. You want to take risks (symbolised by you skating on the ice.) I WOULDN'T let your teacher know how you feel about him, he probably has an idea anyway. Telling your teacher to meet you at the skating rink and skating well shows you have inner confidence but the fact you are skating on ice symbolises that you need to proceed with caution. Maybe you have something in mind that you want to tell your teacher? Falling through the ice symbolises your emotions, they could come crashing down on you if you're not careful. DON'T let your emotions take over, tread carefully with this teacher. If people get to know about your crush, especially the staff then he could at worst end up being struck off as a teacher so keep your emotions to yourself and write them in that little pink diary (symbolising your inner emotions in your dream.)

Your sister coming to your rescue symbolises someone you look up to and trust. Talk to her about your feelings for your teacher. You like him a lot and are very frustrated that things aren't going the way you want them to. Trust me, your crush WILL pass.

Royofthe Rovers agony auntDreams are damn weird things. They seem so real and you want to think they mean something meaningful. But the truth of the matter is that dreams are usually your mind sorting through all your problems from the day before and tries to make sense of them by random vivid images and scenarios that we can relate to. If its a repeating dream, wake up and try and write down what you remember, then try going back to the dream and finish it the way you want it to finish.

ChiRaven agony auntDon't worry too much about the dream world, lady. You've got problems enough right here in this world. Get help and get on your way to a solution to them and I guarantee that the problems and mysteries you are having in your dreams will start clicking into place.

Dreams are a very important way that our brains "unload" certain things, but unraveling them is a job for experts. Even the very psychic people (and I've known some very, very good ones ... I was married to one until she died) would not touch this unless you were already working on getting your your real-life world into some sort of better shape.

Oh, and if Mr. A is still a teacher and you are still a student at the school where he teaches, you are COMPLETELY OFF LIMITS to him at least until you graduate or leave school. Even if the two of you are the hottest item since Romeo and Juliette, if he makes a move in your direction his career is THROUGH! That rule, by the way, applies to me as well and I teach college where some of my students are my age or even older.

Hiya

From what I know about dreams I would say that when a person has a dream, they don't just have 'one full one dream'. A dream is made up of several little clips. Every little clips is made up of little visions and feelings. And it is these little feelings and visions that you need to interpret. Once you have interpreted each little vision you can put it all together to get the big picture, to show you what your mind was trying to tell you.

For example you dreamed the word pink, so you should look it up and see what pink means, you can be given different examples to find out exactly what it meant in your dream. Then you dreamt your diary was open so you could search open diary and find out what that means. These are only guidelines for a brilliant website that I know of.... www.dreammoods.com or org ???? I can't remember which one.

A female reader, Melanne United Kingdom +, writes (29 March 2007):

Melanne agony auntDreams are significant they usually tend to mean something and usually are logical explanations. Dreams are unique and you will not usually have the same dream as another though very rarely does that happen.

Dreams are usually the unconcious mind working through what has happened during the day and they bring with them a whole range of emotions. It provides you with a chance to explore the feelings you don't get a chance to during the day. Dreaming usually reveals your deepest feelings and if you look at them logically you can usually work out your own interpretation.

The dream that you had reveals your fear of class mates finding out the crush you have on your teacher. It shows the embarrassment you would feel if anybody found out. You felt anger and also a deep sadness and shock that people had found out and someone had read your diary. This probably stems from the fear of pain you would feel if people did find out this secret.

The fact that you kissed your teacher and he walked away shows the rejection you would feel if this did happen. You also have a fear that the teacher would be hurt if he found out your attraction for him. This is combined with a whole range of other emotions such as the embarrassment, the fear, the dread as well as if your class mates found out.

The fact you shouted out and were angry that the teacher didn't care about you shows that you really like him and that this love is not wanted. You fear that the teacher doesn't like you or care about you and that if you told him about your crush he would reject you.

You have just confided in him about your anorexia and you are frightened that he isn't interested. I think the reason you have this crush is because you look up to this school teacher and you feel that you can trust him enough to tell him about your anorexia. You really respect him and look to him as a person who will listen to you which is what you need at the moment.

The falling through the ice shows that you are facing big problems in your life and feel like you are losing control and need someone to help you. This time your sister helped you out of the ice. This indicates the love you have for your sister and that if things got too much she would be there to help you. The stress that you are going through right now is being played out in your dreams where you are confused and mixed up.

I really feel the deep pain that is in your life and would encourage you to seek professional help such as the school counsellor or a family member that you can trust. It will probably magnify your feelings for this teacher if you carry on confiding in him though there needs to be someone you can talk to about this. If there is nobody else you can talk to then I would encourage you to talk to your teacher. I would also encourage you to tell your teacher that you have a crush on him. Don't ask him out or anything like that, but in my own experience it is better when things are out in the open and if you can tell your teacher that you have this crush it might help to rid the feelings that are playing on your mind. Teachers are used to school girl crushes even though it might feel like more than that they know that these things happen. The teacher should reassure you and understand that a crush is something you cannot help and then he will be able to act more appropriately.

I hope that this has helped.

A female reader, stina United States +, writes (29 March 2007):

stina agony auntHey there,

I'm not expert on finding the meaning behind dreams, but in my own opinion it seems as though you may be wishing you didn't tell Mr. A about your anorexia. Or maybe you didn't get the reaction you were hoping for from him in real life, so what if he found out about your feelings towards him? -- that kind of a thing. Like you're seeing what a worst case scenario would be like...

Let me ask you - have you talked with anyone else about your anorexia? You should really consult a doctor to try and help you - there's no reason to be ashamed and every reason to want to be healthy, you know? I know that you didn't one day wake up and say "Hmm...I think I'll starve myself" with absolutely no reason behind it. There is always a cause and you need to figure out what that is and address it with professional help, okay? (I know you're probably annoyed at my answer now, so I'm sorry, but I really thought that should be talked about, as well.)

I had a friend who was anorexic for over 5 years - she also became bullemic. She would pass out for no apparent reason and miss days and days of school - even upwards of a couple weeks sometimes. But after seeking treatment and being sent to a top of the line hospital for a year or so, she got better. It took her a really long time to build up mass again, though, but now she looks and feels much better. Please do think about talking to a family member about making a doctor appointment, or make one on your own, if you haven't, okay?

Take care.
