 In my experience, for what it may be worth, sex is or can be the glue that binds your relationship as long as it is loving and meaningful. My women have always been my best friends, and learning to satisfy each other sexually was one of the best things about it. And to all my detractors here, most of my relationships in life were long lasting, one for 20 years, and always monogamous.

It depends how you truly see her. Yes, she is your girlfriend, but you said you had a deep friendship and that's how you were attached. Decide whether you love her as a best friend, or as a girlfriend.
