writes:Why do other girls give me looks when i say im breast feeding my baby? why does people think its gross? i mean thats way babys are ment to be feed. i think with it being flu season and babys die from the flu it would be selfish for me not to breast feed since a doc will tell u a breast feed baby is more healthy. Christian is verified as being by the original poster of the questionWell it would be heard to cover me up i would have to have a sheet lol when my breast are full they are falling out of my double d bra. i just feel better in the back seat of my vw bug cause the windows are high and with my shurt over the top of my breast it cant be seen. funny once i was feeding like that and an old man stoped to look in the window to see the baby, and the baby seen him and turned away from eating the guy saw everything. but he realy didnt even notice.

I don't think it's the act of breast feeding that bothers some women (at least I would hope not) but it's how some women do it. I've seen a woman walking through a store that I worked at and she just had her shirt lifted up and was breast feeding, I'm sorry but I was not interested in seeing her boob. I've also seen women doing the same thing but with a thin blanket over them and I knew what they were doing and thought it was perfectly fine. I don't think you need to even rush to the car, just covering up a little is fine. Regardless if there's a child feeding or not, I think it's inappropriate to see a woman's breast anytime. There's a lot of things that are natural in this world, but it doesn't mean that everyone should see it.

I think it embarrasses people to see a breast out in public.
Although i do know a lot of men that are so strongly attracted to boobs, that a woman breast feeding is like a free show.
I haven't had children yet, but i do plan on breast feeding and if the kid hungry then how are you going to not just take a break from what your doing and feed it.
Plus like others have said its natural, cheap (compared to $20 and up cans of powdered formula that you have to mix and heat your self) also very little clean up, no baby bottle (except for a few) clean up

 Goodness there is nothing wrong with breast feeding!! It is so healthy for an infant/baby!! I agree people have sexualized the breast, and I am one of them (doesn't bother me when the girls get attention), but they are there to give your baby the most natural nutrition for a reason. Who cares if people are ignorant to that. Smile because you're doing something so natural, bonding with your child, and protecting them the best way you can. Keep on keepin on!

reader, anonymous, writes (27 October 2009): Its perfectly fine, try to cover it up as much as possible if in public and not make a big thing out of it. Try to just do it at home.. Women use a breast pump and put it in bottles to take out in public..Note::. Some women are just jealous that you have a baby and they dont. Some women cant have kids, dont like kids or time got away from them and they got to old for kids now. which is sad so they get upset they will never breastfeed themselves.. You get it now??? so you know how women are, find a group of new mommy's who know what you are going through.Hang out with happy new mothers.. . Yes breast feed its better for the baby and we all know that.. Keep it up. Dont think anything of it, that is what god intended for all women to do... Women can be very mean, hateful and nasty throughout your life just get used to it...we all do.

 Some people have very limited imaginations and cannot picture themselves in certain situations. This may just be such a far-off concept for them that they can't get their minds around it.
Ignore the negativity, their turn will come when they have a baby. Then they'll understand.
And yes, I understand that breast milk is best for your baby. So don't let ignorant women keep you from doing what's right.
