What does our star alignment say about us?

Question - (2 January 2013) 6 Answers - (Newest, 3 January 2013)
A female United States age 41-50, anonymous writes:

A few months ago a man asked me out. I originally said yes but when I found out how old he was I said we could be friends. I am ten years older than he is. We have since started dating and the relationship is going well. I still worry about the age gap but it does not pose an issue at this point in the relationship, aside from my inward and insecurities. I am a bit young at heart and he is fairly mature. The question is what our star alignment says about us. He is a pisces-aries cusp closer to aries 3/23/1992 and I am a Virgo 9/13/1982.

So_Very_Confused agony auntOh please, astrology means NOTHING

as for a ten year gap... also NOTHING (my hubby is 13.25 years younger than I am)

for what it's worth I'm pisces and my brother is virgo and we do not get along at all....

if you like him

if he likes you

if you guys are having fun together

then to me that's all that matters.

anon_e_mouse agony aunt"I'm capricorn and a lot of my friends are also capricorn, but also after about 10-15 minutes of talking with a total stranger I can pretty much tell if they share my star sign or not based on how easily we get along"

What a load of rubbish. I meet people like this who try and guess what star sign I am and it takes them between 3-6 attempts. Then they come out with the... "Ah yes, I see now, you're very [insert trait here].

Load of rubbish.

anon_e_mouse agony auntYour star alignment says absolutely nothing about you. It's rubbish. From the era of witches and all that tosh.

I never used to think there was any truth behind astrology, I just thought it was a fraudsters way of making money, but I've recently notice I can get along better with members of my own star sign. I'm capricorn and a lot of my friends are also capricorn, but also after about 10-15 minutes of talking with a total stranger I can pretty much tell if they share my star sign or not based on how easily we get along lol.

Sorry I don't know much about other star signs. I guess its what works for you. If you get along then great, if not, reconsider the situation.

Good luck.

CindyCares agony aunt I don't believe in astrology anymore, but I studied it a bit in the past.

First, to find out his exact Sun sign ( a cusp Pisces/ Aries is too vague, it does make a difference if he is one or the other, although if he 's on a cusp he shares some traits of the adjacent sign ) you'd need to know the exact time of his birth and then consult the ephemerides for that year ( a daily table of all planetary movements, you can buy a book or consult them on line on some astrology site ).

Anyway , for a love compatibility chart what really counts it's your Moon positions, and in which sign is your Mars and his Venus.

Very generally speaking, Aries and Virgo do not match that well as a couple, Aries is too sexual, unconventional and independent for shy, conservative Virgo. It would go better with Pisces, particularly if you are older, because dreamy, unpractical Pisces likes to be sort of mothered by someone older, grounded and serious minded.

Astrology is fun, even fascinating,but.... I would advise you to keep it as a passtime and not base your chances of success in love on it :), even with the best alignment of star... real life is all different.

A female reader, Abella United States +, writes (3 January 2013):

Abella agony auntIf you believe in astrology then you should try to plot the moon, rising signs etc by his and your exact time and place of birth.

When I was 13-14 I thought it interesting as a concept, but now I am not a believer.

For instance Aries are alleged to stride in confidently like a fearless bull at gate, walking over anything in their way; but that sounds a bit selfish. It can't be true of all Aries as I know some Aries who are nothing like that.

And Pieces are alleged to be sentimental and weep easily and soft gentle characters who can get easily hurt. It can't be true of all Pieces either based on Pieces people I've observed. I think Elizabeth Taylor the actress was Pieces and she seemed a strong determined woman to me.

It's the age difference that may cause problems eventually.
