Yer I agree with the advice, flirt and stuff and see what happens...
If at first nothing, then leave it for the time being... but next time you're online, just before you have to go, just say something like "i've got to go but is it ok to text you?" if she gives you her number you know you're getting somewhere either as a friend or something more.

 I think in this case it will be easier for you to talk to her as there is going to be a group of you, so ultimately you are all going to be mingling together. When you go for the meal make sure you get a seat next to her, then you can chat during and after the meal. Flirt with her a little to test the water, like eye contact and a few touches and see if she reciprocates. When you go to watch the film make sure you sit next to her again and continue the flirting. If you think its going well and she is responding well to you then wait till the end of the night before you ask for her number.
