 Don't tell him, just ditch him. Clearly, you're not totally 100% invested in this relationship or you wouldn't have cheated. And the fact that you're so afraid of him and his quick, volatile reactions is a major red flag to me. If he's got a nasty temper or can be abusive, regardless of the cheating or your feelings, you need to get out of the relationship. Telling him will only fuel his fire, if you do intend to break up with him.
