 I think that in this day and age it does not look to out of place for a girl to ask a guy out, as it did years ago. I think if you don't want this love to slip away, then maybe you should overcome your shyness and arrange to meet him. Keep it light hearted and just ask him if fancies meeting up for a drink or something, then take it from there.
