A female United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

so i have a boyfriend.. we went out before, all summer. now we're going out again. it's been a little over a month so far and it's just amazing. i really feel like i'm in love with him. people say you'll know it when it happens.. and we really believe that we love each other. but there's a problem.. i have a bunch of guy friends and i'm close with some of them. and they text me and call me and we talk. and my boyfriend hates this. he always accuses me of liking them or something. but i don't.. they're my friends. i don't have much girl friends to talk to so yeah. and i just don't want him to think anything and then go off and text some girl and cheat on me because he thinks i am. i just feel bad whenever i text a guy but we're just friends.. and i want him to know that. i mean i get mad if i see him text a girl sometimes. but i just don't know what to do about this. i love him with everything i've got and i'd never ever cheat on him. help! thanks!

A female reader, prenezmoila United States +, writes (29 December 2008):

prenezmoila agony auntThis relationship needs time to develop. Once you both have had more time with each other, you'll understand the whole situation more thoroughly. Infatuation differs from love, don't forget that. If your guy friends truly are just good friends of yours, as it is with me, make sure he KNOWS that. Hang out with your guy friends AND your boyfriends so he can see for himself how things are. Don't do anything that could make him jealous, this will add unneeded tension to your relationship. Good luck.
