 erm, you can't. Sorry. You dumped him. And even if you made a mistake, you can't now backtrack - he's happy with your best friend, and she is with him. You can't do that to her, and there's no point trying to change him - he's told you he prefers her.
I guess your only comfort is to remind yourself of why you dumped him in the first place - you must have had a reason. You're probably just jealous now because suddenly he's something worth having again, whereas when you dumped him he wasn't.

 This is very messy. Which of them are you hoping to remain friends with any time in the future? Honesty, dear, if you did dump him, and you love your BFF, you should be the "better person" and let him go. There are lots of "fish-in-the sea", and if you do love them both, you would want them to be deliriously happy, right???
