Question - (29 April 2008) 3 Answers - (Newest, 29 April 2008)
A female United Kingdom age 36-40, anonymous writes:

ive been working with a guy since last october, im really into him and i was unsure whether he felt the same, the people we work with tell me he talks about me, saying how nice i am and that he'd love to take me out.

But yesterday was my last day there and because we are both shy i thought if i dont do something now ill never know, so i left my number with a co-worker who we both get on well with and asked her to give it to him.

It's a bit daft i know but like i said im really shy and thought if he aint interested it makes it easier on us both, if he is interested how long would it take to contact me? and at what point should i accept that he aint interested?

lexilou agony auntIf he is as shy as you it could take a week or two. Why dont you contact him - if you do it by phone and he says no thanks then its not like you have to work with him again. You could just say now youre not working together you'd like to get to know the real him. Go for it because I think he likes you too x

Kawika agony auntI would consider giving it at least a couple weeks. If he's really shy than a month...If he's really, really shy than a year (kidding). He's probably building his nerve to call you. He's probably standing in front of his mirror right now trying to figure what he should say to you. Knowing some men...it may take a while. However, in your case "silence" may be to your advantage. The mystery of not knowing that he will ever see you again is a powerful thing. If he likes you...which I think he does...he will call. If not, then fate will find you. I hope this helps...

Sisyphus agony auntWhen I get a number I wait two days before calling it. It may be that your co-worker forgot to pass your number on. Why not pop back in there in a weeks time to say hello to your old co-workers and invite them out to drinks to celebrate your new job?
