A few weeks ago I met a boy at the library. At first we would just give each other a smile but eventually we started to talk-I found out he had a girlfriend and was a little shocked when I did find out because he told me he thought I was really cute and special etc etc etc. I asked him how his girlfriend felt about him flirting with other girls and he said she'd get really jealous. He then told me that he is probably going to be breaking up with his grilfriend soon-I thought that was a little strange. I made it obvious that I liked him. He is always gonig out of his way to be nice to me and because of this I like him even more!! But the reality is he has a girlfriend.....anyway the last few days he hasnt been giving me as much attention as he usually does-he could just be genuinely busy because he is revising,I don't know what to think!! What do I do??

Yos agony auntBest to forget about him for the time being. However, you never know, perhaps there are problems with his current relationship that he won't carry forward (we do gradually make progress after all...). Keep an eye out for him and perhaps the next time you meet he will be single and worthwhile.

If you do start to get involved, be sure you understand what happened between him and his ex enough so that you can trust him and have the confidence to have a healthy relationship. Don't fall for the trap she did.

I do completely understand it is a really wrong thing to do but because at first I assumed he didnt have a grilfriend i got to know him and have now really fallen for him. Everytime I am down about something he picks up on it and makes me feel better about everything....can I not just go out with him as a friend? or would that be a little risky?

DrPsych agony auntRun away now...and count your blessings. He has a girlfriend and he has a wandering eye, if you were his girlfriend he would wander too...think how she must feel. He maybe a little bored with his current relationship but if he wanted to break up with his GF he would just do it rather than talk - actions speak louder than words...take care.

willywombat agony auntI think firstly that he is attatched and you should stay clear. Secondly I believe you may have read a little to much into a flirtation that just wasn't going anywere. If you were his GF how would you feel if he went and did this to you? You would not be happy now would you. So as he has a track record of 'flirting' intensely with peiople why would you want to open yourself up to potential heartbreak?
