Question - (11 December 2013) 4 Answers - (Newest, 12 December 2013)
A female United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

I was dating this guy for two months. Everything was perfect, we got along, we had the same common interest and we were going to college, both of our majors went hand in hand with each other and we really helped pushed and motivate each other in school.

He told me that he really cared about me and that I was everything he looked for in a girl. He told me that I was the girl he had always been looking for and he was so glad that we met each other at school, as so was I.

Things begin to get a little suspicious and I began to speculate his trust, I found out he had a Facebook and did more research to found out he had a girlfriend the entire time we were dating. I confronted him on the situation and he wanted to talk. We met up to talk and he confessed that he was in a relationship. He said that he wasn't happy with her and that they weren't getting along, he said that he didn't love her and that he has been wanting to breakup with her but hasn't because of the Holidays and that he didn't want to her to be alone because she lives in CA by herself and has nobody. He told me that he was going to breakup with her because this made him realize he can't be lying to both us anymore. Ultimately, he choose to stay with her because of the history they had together and that he feels sorry for and doesn't want to leave her at this time.

He wants to meet up with me and give me my birthday present and I'm not sure if I should do so, he says it's to give us both closure and to talk. I don't understand why he wants to meet up after he finally made his decision. Is to tell me he wants to be with me? See if I still care about him? I also want to know, do you think he really cared about me? Or was I just something to get his mind off of his terrible relationship that he is in? If he wants to see me does that mean he still cares about me? Also, after the breakup he still follows me on a social app, is he only doing that to be curious if I find somebody else, or just to see what I'm doing, and if so why?

Answer = NO!!

He's lied to you - maybe to her too - and will probably keep lying to you if you let him. Dump him, block him, (maybe let the GF know what a rat he is too) and move on with your life.

Tisha-1 agony auntThe guy was lying to you for two months. When confronted, he chose the girlfriend.

Your relationship is over, you don't need closure, you need him gone.

And no, don't give him a second chance later on down the road. He's a lying cheat now, and I doubt he'll have a massive change of personality and become a man of integrity.

Block him on the social app.

Why are you sticking around for this treatment? Trying to figure out how you fit into a lying cheat's life is an absolute and complete waste of time.

Honeypie agony auntNo, no no. You tell him to go FLY A KITE!

Why would even consider trying anything with him again? Do you LIKE being used?

Did he not tell you that he CHOSE his GF?

Tell him to give HER the present you don't need anything from him, then BLOCK the FIRE out of him.

It's not that he might not care, but the thing is he doesn't CARE enough. And you can un-friend him and block him from your feeds - as for social apps... who cares what he does and why.

Do I give him a second chance later on down the road when he wants me back?
