A female , anonymous writes:

There is a guy at work who I have started to become friendly with due to a mutual acquaintance. Whilst talking on the phone last week he was feeling sorry for himself with a cold and as we talked he said to me that 'he needed the love of a good woman'. I didn't know what to reply to this.

Later that day I texted and asked if he was ok and he said he was. I asked if he minded me texting him and he said 'not at all it was lovely to hear from you, anytime'.

Does this guy just want a someone to talk to or is he hoping to go a bit further with it.

polarkite agony auntHe said, 'I wouldn't mind you coughing if I was lying next to you in bed'????

That's just creepy, I don't know what that means! This guy doesn't have enough confidence to say what he really means.

Thanks for the two replies. He has since spoken to me as I said I was having problems sleeping because of coughing so much and he said 'I wouldn't mind you coughing if I was lying next to you in bed'.

I take this implies that he is more interested in a one night stand that anything further.

polarkite agony auntWho knows? Maybe he's a hopeless romantic, or maybe he was shy and trying to see if you liked him, or maybe there's some other explanation.

*Slow down*, and be his friend, and see how things work out. If he starts talking about *specific* girls he likes, then that probably means he thinks of you as a *friend*. But that doesn't mean it can't turn into more, especially if you like him as a friend also. It simply will take longer. You could even give him relationship advice!

kenny agony auntThis guy is obviously on the look out for potential partner material. When he said he wants the love of a good woman its very hard to say if he meant with you, or with someone else. He could genuinly just want someone to talk to, a friend out of you, or he could want a whole load more. I think that its something you are going to have find out as time goes on, or simply ask him what his feelings are.

Good luck x
