A female United States age 30-35, *inicky One writes:

Okay. (takes deep breath) I've been having a lot of dreams about myself having a child. I've had the first one that showed me taking a pregnancy test and it showing up positive, all the way to me coming home with a new born baby girl. I wrote down every dream I could remember because I really missed them.

My period had came a day late and it came out brown and red. My period normally comes out red only, and then brown at the end. I bled brown blood for more than my usaul period lasts. My breasts has been itchy and my head gets dizzy when I get up. My nails are growing extremely fast, and my appetite has changed. My body gets really tired and I've been emotional. Every time I get mad or frustrated, I began to start crying. I don't normally do that.

Please help me. And thank you!

k_c100 agony auntWell I think it is unlikely that you are pregnant if you have had a period but if you are really concerned then I suggest you take a pregnancy test. Have you had unprotected sex recently? If you have then you will also need an STD check too (your doctor will be able to sort this out for you).

Your dreams dont really connect to real life - they are normally thought of as a product of your brain trying to process the information that it has recieved throughout the day. Has someone close to you/in your family had a baby? It could be that if you have been seeing a lot of babies recently then naturally they will come up in your dreams.

Do you feel like you want a child? Are you in a long term, happy relationship? At the age you are currently, your fertility is at its highest so naturally the body wants to try and get pregnant as this is the time when your eggs are at their "best". This does not mean you have to have a child now, it is just instinct that has been there since humans existed as the primary need for a human is to reproduce. It is a natural urge and nothing to worry about.

The pyhsical symptoms sound more related to your period than a pregancy, PMS (Pre Menstrual Syndrome)often makes you very emotional and crying is very common. Your periods will change slightly as you get older, and not every period will be the same. Itchy breasts are also associated with PMS too. I'm unsure about the growth of your nails - that might be something to ask your doctor.

If you are really worried about all this then see your doctor, they will have experienced lots of things like this before and will be the best person to help you.
