I'm a guy and prefer the natural look on women. A little eye make up is fine but all that powder on your face; no thanks. However, as the years go by, well maybe just a little!

mystify agony auntmy brother once told me he met a girl and just before they got it on she went to the bathroom and took all her make up off and he was extremely dissapointed because he felt it was sexy.

ive had boyfriends telling me to apply more and boyfriends telling me to take it off , its all individual , but if i were you id do what you feel comfortable with and meet a boy who likes you for that

Wendyg agony auntWell, I have to say that I do like to wear makeup. But not alot, just enough to kinda make me look awake! By no means full makeup that makes you look orange, I do where possible go for the natural glow! Anyway my man hates me wearing any kind of make up, he says that I look far prettier without, but understands that its a feel good thing for me. So i will continue to wear mascara just to perk up my eyes a bit, but in the main I have to agree, girls look far nicer with minimal or no make up.

Ahhhh THE POWER OF MAKEUP!! Anyways, In my opinion a little bit of makeup on a girl is ok but when she looks like shes been Tango'd or when its caked on then she wouldnt get a second look! Its so FAKE and mingin looking. My girls sister had a brown face and a pale white neck one day and it looked awful! A girl with a natural tan and no makeup is a real turn on. Andy

Natural. I don't really like girls wearing a lot of makeup. I'd rather see what they really look like.

tequilarodeo agony auntI'm your age, and my friends started wearing make-up when they were 12... personally i thought it was dumb because they didn't know how to apply it and look a little "suggestive"

All my boyfriends liked it that i was natural, with little to no make-up. Who really wants to see a girl with her face plastered on? lol... In the end it is personal preferance! :)

I prefer the natural look personally. Either no make up or very little...I find it a real turn off when a girls face is caked with this stuff.

A female reader, Angelicc United Kingdom +, writes (21 May 2006):

Angelicc agony auntI think guys prefer girl with little to no make up because when you see someone natural you know what they really look like and it's nice to people happy with the way they look.

but if you date some girl with bare make up and one day you catch them with out it, it's shocking.

A female reader, DrPsych United Kingdom +, writes (21 May 2006):

DrPsych agony auntIn my opinion it is not about what the man prefers, but is entirely up to your personal preference. Some ladies find makeup gives them a little more confidence (whatever the rights or wrongs of that!). Lets face it, going out looking like Ronald MacDonald is a bit of drag because it takes ages to apply makeup properly and some men may find that artificial looking. Heavy makeup isn't usually too good for your skin particularly in the teen years as you get blocked pores!

Whats more, there will be a time when he may see you doing an impression of Ozzy Osbourne when your eye liner has run, or he may see you without any makeup if he just drops by your place unexpectedly. If a boy really likes you they are generally forgiving of such things, and won't run screaming into the sunset, so just wear whatever makeup makes you feel good.

A male reader, harshbutfair United Kingdom +, writes (21 May 2006):

harshbutfair agony auntYou're a little too young for make up lady. There used to be an old poem that went *something* like this:

When roses are red

They're ready for PLUCKING

When girls are 16

They're ready for MAKE UP

Or something like that.
