By the grace of god you won't be pregnant. But having sex without contraception (medications to stop conception) you may 1)become pregnant, 2)receive syphillis, chlamydia, or anything else your boyfriend has. If you fail to understand the above then you need to avoid intercourse until you take an pass GCSE biology. King regards.

Tisha-1 agony auntI think you should contact the NHS and get yourself some help here. We can't tell if you are pregnant or not, and it sounds like you need some immediate practical help.

My suggestion is to talk to your mother, if you can, she would want what's best for you and while she may be angry at finding you are sexually active, wouldn't it be better to get her help?

Here's the link that will get you some help: http://www.nhs.uk/Planners/pregnancycareplanner/pages/Findingout.aspx

Good luck to you as you face one of the consequences of becoming sexually active. I think you owe it to yourself to get some real help from your family or the NHS, so you don't wind up in this situation again, okay? I'm not trying to be mean here, I just think you should know more about your body and preventing pregnancy before you get yourself into a situation that will have severe and lasting impact on your future. Be good to yourself, okay?

A female reader, chigirl Norway +, writes (9 August 2010):

chigirl agony auntWell, get the test anyway and read the instructions. Some tests can be done very early, up to 6 days prior to your expected menstruation. And yes, there can be bleedings during an entire pregnancy. It could also be that you have a miscarriage, as they are relatively common during early pregnancy. Early miscarriages are usually believed to be an extra menstruation when they are not.

A female reader, chigirl Norway +, writes (9 August 2010):

chigirl agony auntNever have sex again until you understand how you end up pregnant. YES YOU CAN BE PREGNANT. Go take a pregnancy test right away. Today. If it is negative, take another to be sure. Then for heavens sake NEVER HAVE UNPROTECTED SEX. Just, don't have sex again, girl. You are not ready for it.

I don't mean to shout just to you precisely, there are so many young girls just in your position. So this is to all of them who ever come by to read these questions on dearcupid: you will get pregnant if you have unprotected sex! That is how babies are made!

Now, run off to the pharmacy and get that pregnancy test. If it is positive contact your doctor and tell her that you took a test and it was positive.

A female reader, xXJDXx United Kingdom +, writes (9 August 2010):

Hi chick, I don't think the other 'aunts' have really taken the time to look at this situation for what it is and I'm very sure that 'once upon a time' they made mistakes and misjuged things sexually also. I do however agree that it's not people 'making fun of you' you should be concerned about.

Firstly if you are pregnant (there is a high possibility you are) you need to think through your options very carefully, having a baby at such a young age IS hard, and I know that first hand, my situation was very different to yours though as I was raped and decided to go ahead with the pregnancy at the tender age of 15. I now have a wonderful happy 6yr old.

I wouldn't advice you to continue with the pregnancy if you are pregnant as I do think by the way you've put this question across that your really not ready for that sort of lifestyle. At your age you should both be fully aware of the risks and dangers of unprotected sex.

DON'T allow yourself to be put in that situation again, make sure your b/f ALWAYS use a condom and you may find it useful to get yourself down to a family planning clinic, they can advise you on every aspect if sexual health and contraception.

unprotected sex tends to = pregnancy. Wait for your period to be late and get tested. If you don't want babies or STDs, always always ALWAYS use condoms and/or some form of birth control.

A female reader, anonymous, writes (9 August 2010):

Yes a good chance that you're pregnant.

Never mind people making fun of you, what about all the people who have to pick up the pieces if you have a baby. What sort of life can you offer a baby when you are 16, haven't got the first clue about sex and don't know how to use basic punctuation. What sort of job will you be getting to provide for your child?

These are the sort of things you need to think about before having sex not after.

A female reader, anonymous, writes (9 August 2010):

How depressing. ANOTHER question along the lines of "I had unprotected sex, I don't really know what I'm doing, could I be pregnant?"

If only these posters would read this site more regularly maybe they would see the answers to these sorts of question which are churned out time after time after time.

Yes of course you could be pregnant. Obviously you don't want to be, and you are clearly extremely immature if your main problem with this is "I'm scared people will make fun of me."

I'm afraid your post indicates loudly and clearly that you should NOT be having sex as you don't have a clue about the consequences. You state that you "don't know a lot about pregnancy" and this is quite apparent. So why did you have sex? I presume you know you can get pregnant by having sex, but not much more. Clearly STDs don't seem to be a concern to you either. If you don't know what could happen then don't take the risk. Of course you could be pregnant, in fact, judging by your post, I would think there is a high chance that you could be.

Please stop having sex until you know more about it. Go and do some reading, there is so much information available online and in the library. Sex makes babies. Do you want a baby? If not then you have to take measures against that outcome, but without even a basic knowledge then this is impossible. Please do some growing up before you have sex again. And google "contraception".

A female reader, WordsCards United States +, writes (9 August 2010):

Sorry, hon, but you can be. It's always bad to have unprotected sex unless you are trying to get pregnant. Never have unprotected sex again. Use a condom AND a water-based spermicide EVERY time you have sex. This will also protect you from STD's. Know that even if you take precautions you can still get genital warts and herpes - there is no way to protect against that. That's why it's important to go with EVERY new partner to get STD testing before you start having sex with them.

Here is a list of abortion clinics:

http://www.abortion.com/index.php

They are confidential and will not release your medical information.

Planned Parenthood: http://www.plannedparenthood.org/health-center/findCenter.asp

They can give you a pregnancy test, check you for STDs and cervical cancer (you are at risk for ALL of these by having unprotected sex.)

A female reader, LilPixie United Kingdom +, writes (9 August 2010):

LilPixie agony auntIf you don't even know the answer to a simple question like this, then you shouldn't even be having sex!!! Of course there is a chance your pregnant. It doesn't matter when you have sex, if it's unprotected there is always a chance of getting pregnant, even if you're on you'r period at the time!

Talk to your doctor about going on the pill or at least get yourself some condoms. He/She should be able to tell you more about sex and contraception or you could do your own research, there is loads of information about it on the internet!

All you can do now is wait for your period, if it's late get yourself a pregnancy test.
