A female reader, deejuliet United States +, writes (26 February 2008):

deejuliet agony auntLaura - you really need to check your facts. A womans fertile time is centered around when she OVULATES, not when she gets her period. A woman ovulates midcycle, right around day 14 in a 28 day cycle (day one being the day you get your period). So your most fertile times are 3 days before and after you ovulate, which would be days 11 thru 17, not days 25 thru day 3. When you get your period the body is discharging the dead, unfertalized egg and the bloody uterine lining that had formed to support the potential pregancy if the egg had been fertalized. Therefore, while it is possible to get pregnant at any time, the 3 days surrounding your period are the days you are LEAST likely to get pregnant. (Plus you are a bloody mess, so do you really want to be messing around anyway!)

Hi Hunny

I would go to your doctor and get a test done, a blood test is better than a urine one you could do this but if you get checked out then your worrys will be sorted one way or another sweetheart.. The sooner the better for peace of mind, Some women do have periods when pregnant..Have you got a white coating on your tongue hunny? The pain could also indicate a bladder infection so it could be a few things so thats why I say doc love Ill send you a link that may help as well

it is possible but unlikely. I would still get it checked out though because some people do have their periods when they are pregnant. Be careful next time because you need to worry about diseases too.

eyeswideopen agony auntI don't think it sounds very likely that you are pregnant. I sure hope you are trying to get that way because otherwise you are being very foolish with all the unprotected sex.

Laura1318 agony aunt7 days before and after your period is your fertile period.Your most fertile period is 3 days before and after your first day of the period.

You chances of being pregnant is quite high but you can only confirm your pregnancy on the 5th or 6 weeks after your last period.
