A male United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

My girlfriend and I had sex for the first time last night. It was my first time ever, not so much hers.

After maybe 10 minutes, I pulled out cuz I felt myself slipping, and I wanted to change positions. When I pulled out, the condom brushed against her leg and left a mark, and we weren't sure what it was. We turned on the lights and found out it was blood. Which for me on my first time, really freaked me out. It freaked her out too cuz she said it had never happened before.

She said she felt fine and wanted to keep going, so we tried for a couple more minutes and I pulled out again, and again, the condom was covered in blood, enough so that when I stood up, and it brushed against my leg, I had a penis-shaped blood stain on my leg.

The blood wasn't pouring out, it just seemed to be there. She said she wasn't due for her period for another month, and like I said it wasn't her first time, so the 'normal' reasons that came to my mind didn't work.

She seemed to think it was from me fingering her, which is the only foreplay we did, because she said she doesn't usually like it, so she doesn't usually let guys do it, but she likes it when I do it. But if that was the case, wouldn't there have been blood on my fingers?

I asked my guy friends and they said it could just be because she hasn't had sex in a while. Not sure I believe that too much either.

The next thing I could think is that (and not bragging) but, from what I hear, is that I am on the larger side, and when I was fingering her, she felt kind of tight compared to other girls I have fingered. Now I'm sure the vagina has amazing stretching abilities but I was/am really concerned that I did some sort of damage.

Has anyone else had similar experiences or insight? If so, I'd really appreciate it. I'm not that worried that I did serious damage, but if it happens again, I'd like to be a little bit more well informed.

Thanks in advance.

chigirl agony auntInstead of fantasizing about how big your penis is, how about you tell us if she was in pain or not? If she didn't feel pain then no.. your penis didn't cause this. If she WAS in pain, then it is likely she could have bled from it, but hardly enough to cause this much blood. I've bled from stretching and it was just a few spots and they were from the opening, where you'd stretch. Whereas this was from inside her.

Yes, the vagina does have amazing stretching capabilities. And my guess is she was just barely finished with her period and too embarrassed to tell you it was menstrual blood. But that's the only thing it could have been.

And no, definitely don't believe your guy friends, and DON'T discuss such intimate details with your friends!!! Imagine how embarrassed your girlfriend would be if she found out your guy friends know what happens when you have sex. That's really a bad idea, so in the future don't kiss and tell. It only reflects badly on you. If you're seriously concerned then ask a doctor, not your friends. Or ask online strangers, just don't ask someone who knows who she or you are..

If you're concerned your penis did damage to her you really ought to just ask her. If you're not comfortable enough to discuss sex with your girlfriend then you shouldn't be having sex with her either.

So_Very_Confused agony auntI agree that if she had just finished her period it could be residual blood from that....

Daisy_Daisy agony auntIf she says she is due her period in another month, does this mean she only just finished her last period? Because sometimes, right at the end of a period, there is still a little blood there and usually it takes a few days to eventually all come out in spits and spots. If something is in there stirring things up, though (like a large penis for ten minutes), I suppose it could be enough to make a condom bloody. Though it would be darker blood rather than fresh, bright red blood. It makes me think that he period hadn't completely finished.

I'd say if it happens again she should go and see her doctor.

Yes, I do sometimes bleed. If you are on a larger side it can deffinitely happen, or she didn't have sex for awhile.

Vagina can scratch to the point of 6 inches but not more. I had an episode when I was traveling, and actually it was only twice with this guy. He was alittle larger than regular also. And before that I didn't have sex for a few months, just happened. I started bleeding also, and he asked me if I have my period. And I finished with my period just a few days before I met him.

We slept together that night and had sex again in a morning, there was bleeding again but not as much. He was puzzled like yourself, but with me it happened before. Next night he was hesitant, and I left it up to him. But the whole day I was not bleeding, and after staying in bed naked, just talking he finally couldnt help it and we went for it again. And that Time there was no bleeding. He also said he never had it before that bleeding episode with a girl.

Also, I just want to say, that fingering for most of us make no sense. If you are already using your fingers, go gently to where clitoris is, outside vaina, but not inside. And no crazy rubbing. I never understood that fingering staff. We expect something bigger than a finger inside, may be you even scratched her with your fingernails.
