maybe, maybe not. in my opinion, you would have 2 walk long enough 2 burn MORE cals than u just ate, or you'll prob. just sit on the same weight, no gain, no loss. unless u got lazy, in which case u'd just gain.

ok, i know this was prob. no help, but it was fun 2 type. thnx.

Tisha-1 agony auntHi, I think there have been similar questions from a girl in your age range who also has a UK flag and asks a lot of questions about losing weight. Have you read any of these?

It's probably a good idea for you to read this article on webmd.com. It's apparently not a good idea to cut down calories below 1600 in the hopes of losing weight as you won't be getting the nutrients you need to stay healthy. And it seems that taking a multi-vitamin will NOT make up for those missing nutrients.

I think it's probably a good idea to have a chat with the doctor to get a good healthy plan for losing weight, IF you need to. You may not, you may be perfectly fine but expect that you have to be twig thin like a supermodel. Supermodels are basically lovely women, but they are actually very rare body types, almost freaks of nature. Most girls and women who are healthy and exercise and eat right do NOT look like the 6' tall super skinny models in the magazines.

Here's the link from webmd.com.

Take good care of yourself and your body. It's the only one you'll get!

A male reader, Bomopu United Kingdom +, writes (29 August 2008):

Your body uses lots of calories each day just doing its normal basic functions. Physical exercise (for the purpose of exercising) could be seen as a sort of exercise 'supplement' really, like extra exercise to burn off the excess calories you have eaten. You may be suprised how much energy your body uses even when at rest. Exercising is one half of the best way to lose weight (the other half is to eat healthily) but you will lose weight without doing as much as you are proposing. The best way to determine how much exercise you need to do is just to see if your weight is going up or down and exercise more if you need to (or eat less). Good luck.

A female reader, Emilysanswers United Kingdom +, writes (28 August 2008):

It really is as simple as it sounds.

If you take in more calories than you burn off you'll put on weight.

If you take in the same amount you burn off then you will stay the same.

If you burn off more than you are taking in then you will loose weight.

As a woman you need about 2000 a day to stay the same with average daily activities. If you cut down to 1800 a day and did exercise as well then you will loose weight slowly and safely.

Don't forget that everything you do will burn them up, even breathing and digesting food burns them up so you don't need to burn off all 2000 through exercise.

Check what weight you should be for your height and remember to keep eating lots of healthy stuff and dairy as you need calcium a LOT at your age. You are going to put on weight purely because you are growing so fast so stay healthy.

Good Luck!! xx
