bonym agony auntMy friend there is perhaps only a 2% chance she is pregnant IF she used her pill correctly and you withdrew IN TIME, but I am no GP and that figure is an estimate. Sex is not just about having fun you know, you ought to know by now that sex can lead to procreation soif you are not ready to be a daddy yet use a condom, its that simple. xXx

willywombat agony auntIt may seem harsh for me to say this but did it not occur to you to use a barrier method of contraception as well as her being on the pill? Why did you go ahead and have sex if you knew you would worry like this afterwards? Condoms are relatively cheap (even free if you live in the UK and go to your nearest FPC) so next time be prepared and don't go through this heartache and worry.

As for the pill, if your GF has been taking it properly it is 98% effective according to statistics.

A female reader, cfliberal +, writes (15 May 2006):

If she is on the Pill, it's highly unlikely she's pregnant. Pulling out is NOT contraception. Sperm can and do come out in the pre-ejaculate. If you are not prepared to be a father, then you need to protect yourself each and every time regardless of what your partner tells you. That means condoms or a vasectomy. It's also a good idea to talk with the woman you're going to be with and find out how she would feel and what she would do in the event of an unplanned pregnancy. Many a man has found himself an unwilling father because he assumed his partner would abort in the event of an "oops."

A female reader, i no how u feel Australia +, writes (15 May 2006):

I seriously doubt that she would be pregnant unless she has been taking the pill incorrectly. maybe next time you should think about using extra protection. If anything you should be worried about STD's, you should think about getting tested, and getting your sexual partner tested before you have unprotected sex.

A female reader, DrPsych United Kingdom +, writes (15 May 2006):

DrPsych agony auntIf she uses the pill properly then it would be unlikely that she would get pregnant. However, think about your anxiety next time you are about to do the deed and use some contraception to protect yourself for other unexpected consequences, quite apart from a baby.
