Don't worry you will have to sign a privacy policy and no matter what is wrond with you weather your pregnant or not there is no way that a doctor can give your information out.

Don't panic too much hon, periods can be irregular at times, a few days is nothing to worry about. If it still hasn't come in a week or so, then definitely take a test, and for sure sit down with your mum and discuss it. If I were you I'd g o to your mum first, before the doctor, because she's going to find out eventually, and better she find out from you rather than your doctor. It might sound scary telling your mum, but you made a mistake with contraception - people make mistakes. You're only young and your mum might be able to help you if you do turn out to be pregnant. Good luck

Wendyg agony auntHow old are you honey, You say your under 16, so how young are we talking... It could just be that because you are scarred/worried that this is delaying your period a little.. Technically your not that late... If you were due between those days then its only really a day, and dont forget last month had 31 days in it... so that could make you slightly miscalculate... As far as would the doctor tell your parents, as a rule they dont involve your partents if at the age of consent or there abouts as as yoru privacy is repsected.. but if you are considerd to be of a very young age, if you were say 12 it would need to be looked into as you would be still deemed as a child... but I thihk at the moment we are slightly jumping the gun. Now, please always use protection from here on in, theres no point me telling you not to have sex as your underage, as well, you have already gone down that road and already know its wrong. But my advice to you would be to go along to the doctors anyway and get yourself on the pill to make sure you dont have any unwanted pregancies, at the very least you should be using condoms. If you are going to be having sexual relations please protect yourself or worrying about being pregnant could be the least of your worries! Always be safe and try not to worry, its a slight delay and anything can cause that and as for the feeling sick its mind over matter, your looking for it... It would probably be too early to take a test in any case as you are not that late, give it a couple of days, and maybe buy one over the counter and take the test at home in private.

Let us know how you get on.

take care x

bonym agony auntSwetie you may not necessarily be pregnant, periods are late for a variety of reasons. I dont think that they will need to in infrom your mum as you are 16, I think they will need to tell them if you were under 16. Have you done a pregnancy test as well? xXx

A female reader, anonymous, writes (4 September 2006):

you dont necessarily have to go to your doctors, i suggest you either 1) go buy a pregnancy test or 2) go to your local clinic, it is completely confidential, they will provide you with a free pregnancy test, and give you guidance from there. They have no rights to inform your mum unless you tell them to.

good luck... remember be careful and practice safe sex as your only 16. x
