writes:im confused. My friends keep saying that i will end up pregnant before i enter collage. Im in marching band like all of my friends i play the flute(we don't have over night band camp by the way). My parents aren't the most caring people and they don't really support my musical dreams(ok they hate the fact im in band) and like worship my brother because he plays hockey. Im also the only one in my group of friends that has had a boyfriend but were broken up. while we were together we kissed a lot and during school when the teachers were out of the room and at dismissal. it's not like he forced me into anything and everything we did together i pretty much wanted. also its not like im that outgoing. im actually pretty shy and i could sit in a room full of people and not talk unless they started talking to me or they were my best friends. I also have high acedemic goals. I was devistated when i got iinto all collage prep classes and i am now working my ass of for the rest of the year so that my teachers will place me in all honors classes. I also took a science class with a lab which took away my study halls on the days i don't have gym. My question is why would my friends think that i will end up getting pregnant before collage and how can i prove that this won't happen to me?

reader, anonymous, writes (20 February 2009): This is verified as being by the original poster of the questionabout the kissing infront of our entire class. it was the second to last day of school and a half day. so pretty much all we did was wander throughout our cluster and take pictures and socialize. so there was this girl in our class and she wasn't really a friend but when she found out we were going out she was like awe and was annoying us until we kissed so we had one of his friends make sure there were no teachers comeing into the room and we kissed. so she shut up, i was happy, he was happy, everyone was happy, exept for my friends.

Well if you were snogging away in front of them all the time then they probably think you were doing a LOT more when not in front of a class full of people.
If you want to make it in life then well done you. Keep safe and don't have sex for a LONG time to come.
Just work hard and ignore them.

 They dont really think that they are just saying that out of jelousy and because they are mean. they are mean and trying to belittle you because they realize you are better then them. best you can do is smile, ignore them and say thank you when they say things to you that you dont like. you go on girl, pursue your dreams dont let losers stop you, if you dont want to get pregnant just yet then dont. you sound like a smart girl, you know what to do to prevent pregnancy.  They probably just assume some things after seeing you passionately kiss or something. OR they're secretly jealous that you have high standards, have ACTUALLY dated someone and they just want to bring you down or create gossip fodder. I'd also bring the integrity of your friends into question if they don't even have a good reason for what they say.Just be abstinent, stay away from parties or relevant temptations, and when you succeed, give them a big old "I told you so."lovelynightmare
