Which of these texts seems more natural and effective? I want to set up a first date but I'm not sure how to go about doing this

Hello,

So 5 days before spring break (about 15 days ago) I met this girl in my ballroom dancing class. We talked for about 15 minutes while the teacher got there, and I ended up getting her phone number.

I just got back from home, and was planning on sending her a text message this Monday or Tuesday, but I am unsure on how to go about doing this.

I am interested in this girl, and want to setup a first "casual" date, so I have come up with two texts. The first one is:

"Hey, its ____ from ballroom dancing. Up for coffeebean sometime this week?"

And the other is

"Hey, its _____ from ballroom dancing. How was your spring break?"

And the plan for that one is that it would hopefully yield some response, and then I would answer something and throw in meeting up for coffee.

Which one seems more natural and effective?

Any help would be appreciated, thank you!

And just to clarify, the only interaction I have had with this girl is at that class. We are both seniors in college.

k_c100 agony auntGo with the second one, the first is a little too direct and seen as you have never been out with her before it makes it sound like going to "coffeebean" is something you two do frequently together.

Go with the second one, hope that she replies and when she does just casually ask if she fancies going out for a coffee sometime this week. Send it on Monday too, rather than Tuesday as she may already have plans for the week by Tuesday so you have more chance if you ask her on Monday. It also means that you seem interested (after all, she might be wondering why you didnt text her during spring break!) - dont listen to any of this 3 day rule nonsense, just text her and make sure she knows you are interested! The longer you wait the more likely she will be to have already decided you are not interested and moved on.

I hope this helps and good luck!
