A female reader, anonymous, writes (25 February 2007):

a few months ago a guy at school fell for me, he asked me out and i said no.

i felt mean, but he was a friend to me and i couldnt see him in another way.

he's a lovely guy, he just wasn't right for me.

We're still just as good friends as ever, i tried not to make too much of a deal out of the situation. He seems to be okay, some of my friends are saying that he's in a bad way, but he seems a strong person and with time im sure he'll recover. He seems happier now he's hanging around with a new bunch of friends and said he felt better after we'd discussed what had happened. My advice to you is, stay friends with the girl, rely on your best friends for support and let them know how you feel and just wait, sometimes time is the best cure to love sickness

kenny agony auntI know its hard whenyou really fancy someone, and their love for you is not reciprocated.

You are still very young, soon you will meet a wonderful girl who really likes you, and you will forget all about this other girl.

Good luck

AskEve agony auntIf she doesn't like you then she doesn't have much taste does she? You move on and find someone else who is more worthy of you. She's not worth it.
