writes:I dnt know where to start. I am a 26 yr old mom of 2 girls 11 and 7 and I waited for my oLdest daughters father after I fnd him in jail to get out cuz he said he had changed. He paroled out to my house in nov of 07 and I fnd out he cheated on me with a 18 yr old and I kicked him out. Well he was locked up from sep- nov and writing me I love you im sorry I'm through messing around etc. After he got out I found out the girl was pregnant with his kid but he said he only wanted to see his kid. I gave him a chance bt then in jan I found out he was still seeing her, I tried to ignore him and told him to leave me alone. Well about a month ago he told me he did not want to see her again except for the baby and his sister even told me they were not together, well he got locked up about 2 wks ago and he will probably do 2-4 yrs.He cant have any contact with her cuz shes part of the reason hes locked up and we wer sleeping together for the past month and he told me he loved me two days b4 he got locked up. My daughter is spending time with his sister her aunt and she is goin to take her to see the baby when its born cuz it is her half sister, but the girl is crazy and shes only 18, and both of them have been on meth I believe since this whole thing started and the girl may still be using while shes been pregnant. I've been to the county jail to see him once and have received one letter from him and i am going to see him on thursday. He says he loves me and the kids and hes going to change and to not listen to what that girl says, but I thought he had changed the first time and hes prob goin to be in for 4 yrs! Our daughter will be like 15 and he will be 30 by the time he gets out. I love this man but I'm not in love with him, but I'm hoping when he gets out hes changed and that he will be the person I first fell in love with when he was locked up, or did that person even exist? please help me?

 People either change because they have to or because they actually have the self awareness that their behavior is causing the problem. If you took the same route to work every day for years and one day couldn't take that same route because of construction, you would be forced to take a different route. Once the construction barrier was removed, you would probably go back to taking the same route you always did because it's quicker, easier, and more familiar. Overall, nothing would have changed in your life- you would still be taking that same route.
