What can I cook her that's fairly simple for our romantic night in together?

So basically i am planning to have a romantic evening in with my girlfriend, in a couple weeks time. The plan is: Dinner, maybe a film and then whatever entails.

However the problem is i'm not a very good cook. I'd rather not cook her a microwave meal, because thats not very romantic (even though she'd probebly never know hehe). So does anyone have some ideas for something easy to cook and tasty?

For pudding i was planning a meringue with some raspberries and strawberries.

(I'm not a fussy eater but she isn't very fond of vegetables. We both eat meat.)

dr.2.be agony auntLike everyone else, I would say pasta. Spaghetti, Penne, Lasagna, etc. Pasta is easy and its not too expensive to make.

You could also make a homemade pizza. They are so good. Just buy the dough and then you can put it together and be creative! You can add any type of cheese that you want to it, any type of sauce or spices or garlic. Homemade pizzas are the best and I love making them. You could also buy the pizza crusts too. Thats what I usually do. If you want to have a little fun, maybe you guys can have a homemade pizza night and make your own pizzas. I don't know how romantic it may be but it could be a good idea for the future.

Have fun! :-)

I'd do with anything pasta. Lasagna is a good option too. You use some garlic bread as a side dish with your pasta dish. Lasagna may not be simple for some people. Cheesecake is a nice option for dessert. You can buy that and spend time on cooking. Unless you would like to make everything on your own. Don't worry too much, whatever you cook she will eat and love it. The food won't matter, the fact that you are doing this for her does...

Don't cook her anything. You will put in all that effort and you yourself will say, "darn this sucks, no one would eat this." So instead, ask her where she likes to eat from and buy the food. Keep this food as reserve. Now try to cook her something so that it counts for effort. Once you make your dish that will inevitably suck or be ridiculously simple, serve it to her. After she takes a couple bites and says "wow, this is delicious" (she has to be polite). Bring out the food she really likes and say "I also got this so you could be full instead of eating what I cooked." She'll say, "Oh, honey I love what you made", as she slowly puts the store bought food on her plate. "But no point in wasting this other food either." Then it will be doubly romantic.

Hey man, there are lots of simple meals you can make.

Ingredients (serves 4)

• 1/4 cup olive oil

• 1 small brown onion, finely chopped

• 2 garlic cloves, crushed

• 2 tablespoons tomato paste

• 400g can diced tomatoes

• 2 cups beef stock

• 300g dried spaghetti pasta

• parmesan cheese, finely grated, and small basil leaves, to serve

• Meatballs (can buy this already made in the shops. 500 g

Method

1. Make meatballs: Combine mince, onion, carrot, parsley, breadcrumbs, feta, egg and salt and pepper in a bowl. Mix well. Using clean hands, roll heaped tablespoonfuls of mixture into balls. Place on a plate. Place flour on a large plate. Season with salt and pepper. Roll meatballs in flour to coat.

2. Heat 2 tablespoons oil in a non-stick frying pan over medium-high heat. Cook meatballs, in batches, for 2 minutes or until browned. Transfer to a plate. Wash and dry frying pan.

3. Add remaining 1 tablespoon oil to pan and heat over medium heat. Add onion and garlic. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 2 minutes or until onion is soft. Add tomato paste. Cook, stirring, for 1 minute.

4. Add tomatoes and stock to pan. Bring to the boil. Reduce heat to medium-low. Simmer for 15 minutes or until sauce thickens slightly. Add meatballs to pan. Spoon over sauce to coat. Cover. Cook for 15 minutes or until meatballs are cooked through.

5. Meanwhile, cook spaghetti in a large saucepan of boiling salted water, following packet directions, until tender. Drain. Arrange spaghetti in warm serving bowls. Spoon over meatballs and sauce. Top with parmesan and basil leaves. Serve.

That is the most amazing meal ever! haha GL

Well first of all she knows your a guy and probably isnt going to be expecting a gourmet meal! (altho some of the best chefs are men!) anyway- there is no need to go all out I'm sure shes more excited about your company rather than your cooking. Maybe some simple spaghetti? It sure was romantic in "Lady and the Tramp" lol Or any pasta dish- its not too casual or too fancy.
