A male United Kingdom age 30-35, anonymous writes:

Dear Agony Aunt,

I am writing to ask your advice on a difficult situation.

I have recently begun a new relationship and we have been going out for about 2 months.

When I first started seeing this girl, she was quite chubby and curvaceous, but since then she has lost weight and now is relatively thin.

For me this is actually a turn off and I am extremely worried that I no longer find her as attractive as I did before.

Is there anything I can really do about this? It seems cruel to break up so soon and when things were otherwise going so well. Is this the only option?

Yours,

Charlie.

olderthandirt agony auntOK, I get it, you prefer chubby over thin but love isn't about lbs. You either lover her or you are just shallow and see flesh. Figure that out first. Good Luck

Maybe she thought she had to lose weight to be able to be attractive to you? Have you asked her why she lost weight or if she is happy with being on a diet? Maybe if she's not happy having to limit her food and would rather be a bit heavier then you could reassure her about it. Seems like you two are not really communicating - and maybe she didn't feel certain in the first place that you were attracted to her because you didn't show it/tell her enough.

Charlie,

Are you sure you're not worried about other guys finding her more attractive now? It sounds like there's more going on here.....

Honeypie agony auntHow much weight can she have lost in 2 months? 10 lbs?

If that little bit of weight loss is a turn off for you then YES, by ALL mean end it with her, BUT for GOODNESS sake have some manners and DO not TELL her I'm ending it because you lost weight.

In case you don't know this already, it's HER body. If she wants to lose weight.. THAT is HER business.

It's ONLY been two months, it's CERTAINLY NOT cruel to end it if you aren't attracted, it would be a lot more cruel to stringing her along. She'll get over you.
