Ok well me and my boyfriend have been going out for a while and frequently have sex. The condom always seems to split and we're going to go to the Doctors soon so I can get put on the pill.

Because the condoms have been breaking we got worried so we decided I'm going to go on the pill. But I'm a couple of days late and I'm certain I'm not pregnant - I've had no symptoms.

I had period pains all last week [like I usually do the week before a period]. Is it unlikely that I'm pregnant? Because I don't think I am it's just that my periods late.

I haven't been worrying I just wanted to know your opinions.

A male reader, anonymous, writes (23 September 2007):

From my experience of splitting condoms, it is quite possible that there isn't enough lubrication. Consider using a personal water-based lubricant (NOT Vaseline as it reacts and weakens the latex material).

Though I'm a male, but I can assure you this - pregnancy symptoms only occurs after 2 weeks or so (which is when morning sickness comes into play). Get it checked by the doctor as soon as possible; and if you are certainly pregnant, you can start looking at your options.

Good luck.

pink_fairy22 agony auntI think you should go to the doctors to be sure. I havent had children myself but i've heard you don't normally have any symptoms of being pregnant until maybe 2 weeks after. A condom splitting is definetely not normal and shouldnt happen as you could very easily get pregnant if you are not using any other method of contraception.

flower girl agony auntBabe i suggest you go to your doctors and get a pregnancy test done or but a home kit, the condom keeps splitting and you are late for your period.

I had no symptoms at all on either of my pregnancies until the later stages and i have a friend that did not even know she was pregnant until she was seven months.

It is extremely possible to get pregnant with the condom being your only form of protection and that keeps splitting, so i would forget about the pill at the moment and concentrate on the pregnancy test and hopefully if it's all clear then you can talk about the pill.

Take care.xx.

spanna agony auntWell it isnt normal for condoms to keep slitting, are you sure you are putting it on right. if you dont pinch the end when putting it on the air gets trapped and well when stuff is added in the end it can put it under unnesseccary pressure and this may be why they arent working for you. You should definately consider the pill if you are not wanting kids, you are too young you need to live first. it is possible that you may be pregnant, period painss but no period is a symptom of being pregnant. i would do a test asap if i was you and see your doctor.
