A female United Kingdom age 30-35, anonymous writes:

Hey Aunties and Uncles!

Thanks in avance for any help you can give - it's all appreciated :)

Anyway...

Yesterday when me and my boyfriend of just over a year were having sex, he wanted to do anal, so asked for me to fetch the lube ('cause we were in my room). We've done anal before and had no problems with it, once without much lubrication and then another time with some Durex lube. The Durex stuff is what i go out to use this time, so i wasn't worried about it cause i've had no problems with it before.

But anyway, when he put it on my and put his finger in my bum to make sure he wasn't gonna hurt me, tht i was lubricated enough, it kinda stung a little.

I brushed it off as irelevant, but as he was putting the end of his penis in, it stung more and i had to stop him cause it hurt too much.

He was perfectly fine with it, holding me and telling me it's okay tht we had to stop and tht it didn't matter, but i feel bad and like i let him down; although i know i didn't... if that makes sense...

We've spoke about this, and he said it's not my fault at all, and it's fine and hasn't even mentioned that we try again :)).

I love my boyfriend so much, and i feel bad tht i had to stop him because i know tht he likes it, but i know he wouldn't force me to do anything i didn't/couldn't do.

So, basically

1) Do you aunties and uncles out there have any idea why it stung?

and

2) Do you think we shoud try again, but use different lube? (It was Durex [Cherry flavoured if this makes any differnce] this time and last time we used the pina colada one).

Thanks for your answers :)

Honeypie agony auntWaterbased lube, with out any scent/flavors will most likely be the best option for you two. Use loads.

There is a product called " H20 gun-oil" which I personally can recommend. (can buy it off the net)

You need to use a non-flavored lube. If you can, buy some lube specifically for anal sex. Some anal lubes have a mild numbing agent to help with pain.

This is verified as being by the original poster of the question

He'd already used his fingers and it didn't hurt, so i think it was the lube, but i duno =/

StudentOfLife agony auntI can't really pin point why sometime it hurt and sometime it doesn't but in my case, lube isn't the solution since I rarely use any (she says she doesn't need it).

I think it may be how horny you are. With my current partner, she seems to tolerate pain more the hornier she is.

Maybe it's related on when you last when to the bathroom, if you've been during the day, you've stretched it already so it wouldn't hurt as much.

If you try again with the other lube (pina colada) and don't feel any pain, let me know. I think I'm going to have to test that with lube in the future so that I can provide better reference.

Imayknow1980 agony auntHey,

I've had this problem myself, sometimes we can become ultra sensitive in that area for no apparent reason. I would recommend just using a petroleum based lube that has no flavour or scent that way you can be certain that you will not get any sort of reaction or stinging from it. Leave the flavoured stuff for oral!!!

Have fun!!

:o)
