So i have fancied 'Froddo' since year 8 (age 12-13 for others) (im in year 11 now - age 16-17) and we fell out a few times, but we always made up. He's a lovely guy. Recently, i spoke to him, and he said he 'likes me a lot more lately', :) , but that he also likes another girl, :( . A few days later a friend (girl, who is close to him) said that he talks about me loads, like about my 'smile' (ermm...??) and all that jazz. so I've met him around town since, and yeah, the way he acts it makes sense. However, i've just found out he smokes and drinks a bit (few beer cans w/friends. I also found out that he doesn't talk about this other girl much. So in this case im absolutely euphoric...but... he needs to grow a pair and ask me out. Well, between the time period of me fancying this guy and him liking me back, something happened. Person 2.Person 2- i met him (lets call him Gandalf) in spain, on an exchange. Notice how i don't say he was in the exchange group, he just hung around with us. He is incredibly sweet and a tad older than me, but obviously, he lives far away, we are in a relationship but things are difficult (i'm not going to be able to see him until august on a family holiday, so i will likely only get 2 maybe 3 days with him) but i don't want to let this go. (oh and he also smokes, great.)so now im talking loads to froddo, but i feel bad because froddo knows about Gandalf, but Gandalf doesn't know about froddo. (this sounds weird)so... who do i choose? if i had no problem with having both, i would. Froddo doesn't want to go out with me atm because he knows about Gandalf, but i want froddo too. And also im worried about the im-dating-someone-thats-not-gandalf rumors going around my exchange group and him (G) finding out. Oh please, help me :(

tomanypeoplehavethenameiwanthere is verified as being by the original poster of the question thanks guys! well, an update - i decided on froddo, but when i met up with him to tell him how i felt, i met the guy i have now been in a relationship with for 3 1/2 months now. they're best friends, so it wasn't easy, but now me and froddo are good friends, and all feeling have dissappeared for froddo. iis on the up again :) peace out!

Seriously! I would go after either. Gandalf lives in Spain and LDR's seldom last. Frodo has no guts and well, I like a guy with guts!

Connecting via the internet and spending a few days together does not make you his girlfriend. He could be doing anything and you would never know. Being older (how old exactly?) he has probably befriended many young foreign girls before, and is a bit of a flirt.
In reality, what do you actually know about him?
My advice would be to forget about the spanish guy, that will never work out. Too far, to little time spent together. You dont know him.
Who says you have to date anyone? If you like the first boy, then wait it out. Be single. Don't take the first thing that is offered to you.
