I was with my last boyfriend stuart for 6 months. I have the contraceptive implant and when me and ever since me and stuart broke up we still sleep together. I have miscounted my last period as I bleed everyday and have for a few months. I am overally emotional all the time and cry even when there is no reason or I am not upset. I eat much more than I usually do and have been feeling very sick. Whats wrong with me? Could I be pregnant? Should I tell Stuart? Xx

I would find out for sure if you're pregnant or not and then go from there. If you are pregnant then tell him and if not, then you don't have to talk to him about something that's only a possibility.

Take a home pregnancy test or go to a clinic and be sure. Antibiotics and other medications can interfere with birth control (i got pregnant with my son while on birth control) so go to a doctor and find out for sure and go from there.

xTheAlmightyDuckx agony auntIts unlikely you could be pregnant, when your on the implant, unless you have taking either St. Johns Wart, or anti-biotics that could of affected it.

You can easily take a pregnancy test.

The impant doesn't make a difference for the outcome.

At the start an implant can cause a lot of trouble with periods, for the first month. After that you may lose some blood for about 2 months, then would bleed on and off, and have rather unexpected periods.

Then it may stop or you have a missed my period, seeming as if you are pregnant. The implant really messes with things like that so try not to worry)

I will say please don't panic, if it has worked for this long then why would it stop? Unless you have taking a course of antibiotics, or had taking St Johns Wart.

You can get pills at your local family planning clinic or doctors surgery, that can make your periods less frequent and stop you bleeding as much, or you can choose to live with if you don't find it to inconvenient.

Also if this is the first 6 months of having your implant put in, its usually very unsettled for the first six months or so, it can sort itself out after then.

I personally think you should tell him, as even just taking the test is a nerve racking experience for any young girl at your age, and you may feel like through just finding out what the result is you need someone to support you.

And it's his fault as much as it is yours, so he should be able to support you through this, however if you think he won't have a good reaction through this, then maybe it is best you do it yourself and then tell him what the result is.

I know how nerve racking it can be, especially at your age,

I'm sure all will be fine, just the implant messing you aroundxxx

Good luck x

Don't tell him anything. Go see a doctor OP. You need to go as soon as possible too. It's more than likely you've become anaemic if you're bleeding a lot and are fatigued, over emotional etc. Go to your doctor this week and don't tell Stu anything. You need to stop sleeping with him too OP, nothing should be going up there if you're constantly bleeding, there may be some kind of damage. So go see a doctor and do it tomorrow if possible but do it this week.

person12345 agony auntIt's unlikely you are pregnant unless your implant needs to be replaced and you did not. I believe (and could be wrong) that with methods like the implant and IUD you are supposed to take pregnancy tests every month or every other month? But those symptoms could very easily be caused BY the implant.

Take a pregnancy test and/or see a doctor before you worry about who you need to tell.

Tisha-1 agony auntSee your doctor to find out a diagnosis. No one here can tell you what is wrong with you. Sorry! Be well, be safe, see the medical professional who can examine and diagnose you properly. Good luck!

It would probably be best to do a pregnancy test before telling anyone you may/may not be pregnant.
