writes:I really like this guy at my school and we talk all the time online but he has a really really pretty ex girlfriend who, until recently, he was still in love with, but they still talk everyday and she flirts with him loads even though she doesnt like him, only as a best friend. Anyway today she gave me a sort of "back off, your not good enough for him" speech and accused me of trying to steal her best friend. Everyone is going to side with her tomorrow when we go back to school, because she's popular and I don't know what to do. I thought he liked me but i'm not sure whether or not asking him out will cause more trouble???

 Try to say a little as possible about it. If she comes up to you and forces a confrontation. Just say I'm sorry I thought you two were not together anymore. So shouldn't it be his decision who he is allowed to talk to and be friends with?Or say, if he doesn't want to talk to me anymore he can tell me himself.

 Well there are two options here.
1- You can ask this boy out. You like him and want to make a go of things, but this means it will cause a hell of a lot of trouble from this girl. Also, you have to consider the fact that he may go running back to her at this point.
2- Keep away, and move on. I know by not getting with him will show that you have 'lost' the battle with this girl, but truth is nobody wants all this trouble especially at school and especially over a boy. Why would you when you're young and there are plenty more boys out there?
Personally sweetie, I'd go with option number 2 xxx
