I don't know why, I hardly ever eat chocolate or drink coffee/tea or smoke or do much that would stain them.It really affects the way I talk and act around boys.I don't think they're naturally yellow, because they are different shades and I've been told that's how to tell if they're stained.I've tried tooth whitening products (some expensive ones too) but they don't work at all!My parents arn't much use. My dad just says I should clean my teeth more, but I clean my teeth twice a day. My mum just says I don't drink enough milk. Does that even make sense? It really puts a downer on my confidence. I'm quite pretty to be honest, I've got a slim and curvy figure and overall I'm actaully quite goodlooking, but my teeth are yellow!!All my friends have beautiful pearly white teeth. Why not me?A while back the dentist said I have good, strong healthy teeth. It's just the clolour that bothers me.Advice, anyone?

That may work, but the truth is that that is about the worst thing that you can do for your teeth. That will eat at your enamel very fast and actualy make your teeth yelower if you do it too much. This is beacause enamel thickness and translucency is actually what affects tooth color naturally. The inner pulp or dentin is actually yellow so if you have thin enamel or translucent enamel, then your teeth may be naturally yellow. If you use a corrosive like bleach, it will wear your enamel down very very quickly...... i cannot even begin to tell you what a dentist would say if he heard that people actually would try that

Anyway I have allways wanted to meet a nice girl that has the same problem as I do. If you would like we could become friends maybe.

Ive never had a filling or anything in my life but they are just discoloured. I have been with my boyfriend for 2 years and he has never commented and it hasnt stopped him kissing me a lot. Ive also wanted to get work done on them. and i have 2 friends who are obsessed with white teeth and its important to them to have white pearly teeth. I did notice though that my teeth looked a lot whiter when i was using a whitening toothpaste and had a really good tan at the same time. I know that sounds strange but it they did look whiter. I would also suggest talking to your dentist. But also its not your teeth that counts and to be honest people dont always notice. Ive never been short of attention for it. You notice when someone has white pearly teeth because they always show them off, but if your more low in confidence your careful with what you show of yourself. I honestly think you'll have no problem. Keep trying various products but if it keeps getting you down it can affect your mood and personality and you dont want it to let it get you that far.

Okay, you may think this is really an odd thing to do, but I have white teeth and many have commented on that. The reason they are white has got zero to do with what I eat etc. So stopping drinking coffee etc isnt going to make a huge difference. Before there was toothpaste, people used to use charcoal to brush their teeth. The charcoal makes your teeth really white over time. I dont know what it is in the charcoal but it cleans them. But I dont know if that is something that you would want to try, its just very messy and the charcoal hasnt got a very pleasant taste.Something my mum used to do when we were younger and if we had marks on our teeth was use general purpose bleech to clean them. All you do is put the bristols of your toothbrush in a little bit of bleech. Under no circumstances do you swallow the bleech. Then brush your teeth. This is not something we did very often it just takes away the little marks on your teeth. I am not suggesting this, but its how we kept our teeth white. Also, using a very hard toothbrush helps too. I get my toothbrushes sent over to me by my sister because I find the toothbrushes in the UK are far too soft. There is a toothbrush called "Jordan V" which is the only toothbrush I use. I always make sure its the "hard" bristols though. As for you little dilema, I have to admit that I wouldnt not go out with someone because they had yellow teeth. What would put me off is bad breath, or if there teeth were rotting. I dont think that is your case.If you were a very ill baby and used to have to take loads of medications, then the medications, especially antibiotics do tend to stain teeth. My niece is a blond haired, blue eyes, pretty girl and has yellow teeth because of the medications she had to take as a child. But that doesnt stop the boys from chasing after her and she is only 13.So dont put too much stress on yourself because of your teeth. Change your toothbrush to a harder bristol and just keep brushing them two to three times a day. Long term it will be worth it!

The funny thing is that people rarely notice, particularly boyfriends and i often get told i have a really nice smile despite the fact my teeth are horrible. they are nice and straight, i just hate the mottled/coloured appearance of them. They have been this way for as long as i can remember though.
i know the colour hasn't been caused by staining, because I have never smoked, drunk red wine or anything like it, so i don't think any exspensive whitening treatment would solve the problem because that's the way they are. One day, i hope to be able to have dental crowns / dental caps or porcelain verneers fitted which will be nice and white, sadly this is very exspensive.

the calcium in milk, helps teeth grow stronger but it doesn't prevent the teeth turning yellow.
unfortunaely i don't know what to suggest other than whitening toothpastes but you say you have tried this. you can have them sergically whitened but this costs alot!
speak to your dentist and ask if he knows of any options because it is effecting your confidence.
sorry i couldn't help more.

They can offer you many alternatives to help you feel better about your teeth. I think that some teeth just need more work than others. Keep your chin up X

Your mother is right, calcium builds up bones but also helps your nails and teeth, if you notice you cuticles on your nails are big and white if you havnt a very good calcium intake same with teeth being white, but believe it or not drinking milk or eating dairy products will help your teeth become stronger and whiter... but also brush your teeth twice a day .
