 I think you need to leave your friends out of this. Your friends don't know him as you do, and you need to use your own judgement. You seem to ask your friends a lot of the questions you should be asking him. So talk to him about this instead.
But from what I can understand, he isn't interested in you but enjoys the attention you give him. Because whether this other girl is true or not, he hasn't said he likes you back, and he hasn't showed an interest in hanging out with you or do things with you, like go to town with you.
