A female United States age 41-50, anonymous writes:

Ok I told this guy that I have been with off and on for over two years what I felt. We had just decided to be friends because of his research traveling with school, but I told him that even though we couldnt be together, I loved him, and this is what he wrote back:

Im doing fine. Your job seems like it is taking a lot of time. I know that you might have felt that way about me, thats why you would always listen to my bullshit most of the time. thats cool that you told me. why didn't you tell me before though? I don't know why you held it back. anyway hit me back.

I dont know what to think. Maybe he does not have any feelings for me? I guess I just want honest opinions.

TDMB agony auntIt sounds to me like he definitely received what you said positively and yes, possibly wished he'd made different choices as Doc says. Think you have enough to go on there to take the honesty thing a bit further and see what happens next. Good luck!

Dr. John agony auntIt sounds to me like he wishes he had known before he left how you felt about him so that he could have perhaps made different choices.

I don't know all the circumstances but perhaps there is still the chance. Doc.
