writes: Is this weird?My b/f matches his undershirt to his underwear(like grey, black, blue)...He has been doing this since i can remember and does it most times i see him..but isnt this something you do when you are going to sleep with someone?Sometimes i feel like is he going to sleep with someone at work and wants to make sure he looks a certain way..almost as if--if you know you are going to a bar and want to get a person, you aren't going to wear crappy underclothes.Is this more of a girl thing--to match just in case you are going to have sex..should i be worried? I have been with him over 2 years so it isnt like he is doing this for me..we arent a new thing anymore. Being paranoid?

reader, anonymous, writes (6 April 2007): (lol) I am older than your BF and I still match my underwear. Even if I am going nowhere. I just like the knowlege that i am "co-ordinated". Just like I don't even wear sweats around the house that are two different colors. Feels wierd if they're not. Looks wierd, too. (lol) Anyway, most guy's underwear is marketed that way. You get your top and bottom together. It is just a natural thing to wear them that way. I am also former military, (standard issue and all that). And it is a sort of habit that is hard to break. But why break it? No, he is not "planning something" that does not involve you. Relax. Yes, you are being a bit paranoid. Women generally tend to buy the old saw that all men are natural slobs, and the only reason they are not is to impress some lady. Not true. I am not a slob, and my lady appreciates that fact.

 I still match my underwear to my clothes EVERY day, no matter what. I have a boyfriend of over 2 years and it's completely nothing. Just relax. If you see some other signs that point more towards cheating, then start to worry, but until then, you might just be a little paranoid for no reason.

 I am leaning towards yes. Yes, you are being paranoid. Some guys just like to coordinate. Is he otherwise a little fashion concious? Or maybe it's just a quirk of his... he likes to match his underwear to his undershirt. My boyfriend matches his as often as he can, but he's a pretty fashionable guy who really likes to coordinate everything.
If it's been two yeas of him doing this consistently, I would call this a quirk rather than evidence of cheating. Lucky you, you have a guy who matches!
