Me and my bf were having sex yesterday and the condom broke without us realising and he came inside me.

As it was New Year's Day, none of the chemist's were open but we went to the hospital and managed to get the morning after pill and I took it within 3-4 hours of having sex. I went on the website and discovered that the tablet (Levonelle) will have 95% chance of working if it is taken within 12 hours, so I figure that it's unlikely that I will get pregnant. The doctor who gave me the pill didn't seem too worried about me getting pregnant seeing as we managed to get a pill early on.

We had protected sex today and it was fine, he didn't even cum because I got too sore half way.

Just to clarify - the leaflet said it was ok to have protected sex after taking it just as long as it WAS protected.

The problem is that I've now discovered the very end of the condom inside me which I have now removed. My boyfriend said that I was very wet when we had sex today, do you think that it would have been that there was still cum inside the end of the condom which now emptied out inside me? Or do you think it's because the tablet has played with my hormones and made me more wet? It is only the very end of the condom and it was (sorry to be graphic) stuck to the side of the vaginal wall)

What I'm trying to ask is that, do you think that having protected sex after this incident made the piece of condom empty out its contents if it had any cum left in it?

Any advice from someone who's experienced an incident with a split condom would be great.

sooty24 agony auntThank you so much for the advice and information.

I was considering going on the pill but as my boyfriend will be at uni for the next four months (This is his final year and he will be home for good after this.)

When he gets back from uni and is staying in the country, I will go to the doctors and get on some form of birth control.

Thanks again!

If he came inside you then the sperm will take a little while to come out. That's why condoms are so great, you don't have to deal with smelly sperm the day or two after.

You can take the morning after pill upto 3 days after and it's basically a big depth charge of hormones that will disrupt all your cycles so its highly unlikely this will make you pregnant if you took it the day before.

You should perhaps think abut going on the pill as well as condoms just be safer. It makes dramas like this a thing of the past!

Good Luck!! xx

I think you should be okay because you took the morning after pill even if there was sperm left in the condom that should still protect you from it.

Honeypie agony auntMaybe you should consider getting birth control pills but keep using condoms. Sperm can live up to 7 days in the fallopian tube.. Scary thought.

I have no experience with Day-after pill what so ever, but broken condoms have happened plenty of times, since I was on the pill is was no big deal.

I'd call the ER or your doc and talk to a registered nurse. They will be better at giving you the advice.

It's good that the two of you are being so responsible about it all. Kudos to you.! Hope everything turns out ok.

No I do not think so. You should be fine. But I think it was not wise of you to have sex so soon. For now, i would have stopped having sex until your period so you do not add other variables to the equation.

You need to go on birth control ASAP. Every woman should, even if they are not very sexually active.
