reader, anonymous, writes (20 January 2010): WHY do so many people feel the NEED to lose their virginity as soon as they have a chance?don't confuse this statement. im not saying anything about you as a person, its just that alot of people have it drilled into their minds that virginity is a bad thing. something to get rid of.i was 19 when i lost my virginity. and it was to a guy i really do care about alot. i was proud to have waited and saved myself. i understand, i too had considered just getting it over and done with, with any random guy. but trust me. if you do it with just anyone, just to have it done, then you will truely regret it. do you really want to be a notch on some guys bedpost? because there are alot of(not all, of course) guys who just want to bed as many women as possible, then brag about how good he is at getting a woman into bed, how badly he treated them, how needy the woman was and how much she wanted him, and of course how slutty she was.PLEASE wait until you find a guy you care about and who truely cares about you.don't let someone make, what should be a loving experience, into another one of his stories to tell his friends and boost his ego!

He was sensitive to my needs and took it slow. Mine was a great experience and it brought my boyfriend and I much closer. However, for many it doesn't really change much for them.
Never do it because you feel it will help your image, because really, it doesn't. It is meant to be something for you and your partner. Waiting until you are certain you are ready and are with the right person is important for a girl. It is your choice how special it is for you. Just know what you are doing and be ready for all of the consequences it could bring.

However, it was the most PAINFUL thing that had ever happened to me. BEYOND painful. Especially since we had to sneak it, so it was in a car, I was very tense, and penetration wasn't easy. For me, it took two days to actually finish, and three tries. This is because he's really large, however.
But yeah, not so fun. If you do want to lose your virginity, go for a bigger man, so then it doesn't hurt as much the next time around.

 First time is special when your with someone you love and someone who loves you back. Otherwise it's embarrassing and shamefull, and painfull, espcially when your in a hurry and do it with someone who dosen't like you and only see's you as cheap easy meat, and dosen't take his time to make you feel special and relaxed before he penetrates... Your first time is something you'll remember all your life.. do you want to remember a fairy tale, or do you want it to seem like a quick piss in the park... your choice... there's no hurry, your 15, you won't die untill your in your 80's...

 I think my first time was special because I was doing it with someone who I loved and I was sharing that moment with them.
I think alot of people do make first time sex seem alot better than what it actually is. First time sex in my eyes wasn't that good in comparison to the sex I have with him now. That's mainly because I had no idea what I was meant to be doing, it was slightly painful and I'd never been in that situation before. But it was still a special moment.
Personally, I don't think you should do it "just to get the pain over with", you're likely to regret it when you meet someone who you really care for. But it's your life, you decide :)

 Don't build up your expectations too high. Like anything if you raise your expectations to high you are likely to be disappointed, especially if the guy that you are doing it with is a teenaged boy. The point is that one way or another you will remember your first time for ever, it is not something that you forget so best make it a happy memory.

 Well you should definitely do it with someone you really trust and who turns you on (if you're not turned on it's gonna hurt a LOT). But no, in reality it's not always that special. I did what you want to, I slept with a close friend just to get it over with and don't regret it even for a second. Very glad to just, get it over with. Just remember to make sure you're aroused beforehand and to DEFINITELY use a condom! Always use a condom.
