reader, anonymous, writes (19 July 2012): Well I sure as hell don't go and sit outside with a male neighbor and have beers with him and then go in and have more drinks because it is hot outside, "unless" I am with other friends and so is he. Just because he may be my neighbor doesn't mean I can totally trust someone. He may be some psycho for all I know. You know, the neighbor you would never suspect would "ever" do anything wrong and then everyone is shocked at the outcome.
From the looks of it, it doesn't sound like you trust him. Is this woman single, divorced, married or have kids? Does he go over and have beers with her often? Do you KNOW this woman? If not, get to know her and let her know he has a girlfriend. Don't make it easy for either of them.

 Yes of course this is Ok. You trust your boyfriend don't you? And surely he must of mentioned having a girlfriend or something so this female neighbor should be nothing to worry about.
He is sitting on his porch with her so it's hardly a secret meaning, if it is causing you to worry perhaps ask your boyfriend about the girl you never know you could all be friends! She may be an old friend of his or even a family friend seeing as they're neighbors.
Try not to worry.

 When I sit on the porch and drink beer with my female friends.... then use the heat as an excuse to go inside... you can be SURE that we AREN'T going to be working on a 1000-piece puzzle for the rest of the afternoon!!!!!!

Sure, people can complain about what I'm going to say but reality sucks, and reality is that alcohol and opposite sex drinking buddies in private don't mix when people are in relationships.
Way to often, what happens is the lines get crossed, alcohol lowers inhibitions and reduces our ability to manage our behavior and people end up having sex.
Don't think it won't happen to you, or him, or her. Why? Because alcohol induces activity changes in the brain and you are not making decisions with all your wits around you EVEN IF YOU ARE NOT "DRUNK".
You are still under the influence...all you need is a tipping point and it may be many things.
