writes:Hey, when first started High School I met this guy in my year and we hit it off and became best friends straight away and still are now. I'm over at his house so often, I basically live there (I don't really get on with my family), his parents see me as one of their own, his brothers really like me too and me and my friend are like brothers. Thought, my friend has a sister whose a year younger than us, at first I just saw as my best friends little sister and slightly awkard around (she had a real big crush on me) and then as a friend but I've noticed how pretty she is lately and we have loads in common and she's really really fun and I think I'm falling in love with her. Just a few problems though, she has five older brother who have, on principle, hated all her other brothers, my best mates one of them and I'm worried he'll hate me for liking his sister and for like the past year and half (ever since we really became friends) she really came out of her shell and stopped being all shy so I think I might have lost my chance and stopped liking me! What shall I do??

I dated my best friend's sister. It was great while it lasted (2 years), but when it ended, i just could not stand to be around my friend anymore. Too many bad memories and emotions that i just couldn't deal with.It is really important to understand that if things end badly, your relationship with everyone in that family will be affected too.That being said, she was the truest love i ever had, and i would probably do it all over again in a heartbeat, even knowing that it would mean that i would lose my friendship with her brother...

 Having a relationship with his sister will change your friendship with her brother almost certainly in a negative way. It depends which friendship you value the most, its one or the other but not both.
