okay so this is awkward to talk about.

Well im 15 years old and im hairy as hell! This is so un attractive specially when im around guys i jist keep my head down cuz i feel awkward. hair is covering 100% of my body! :( its actually a thick and i feel so awkward about it! everytime i try to remove it seems to be painful. but when i was younger i had no hair at all. The first time i had my period, a few months later my hair started to grow all over my body. My mom told me that its because of the hormones and when these hormones calm down the hair will fade away. Will they? And when? I feel so sad and depreassed about it. And removing all the hair is so painful and takes days and time to me. Help?.

CindyCares agony auntIt depends from what you mean by " hair covers 100% of my body ". If it's a figure of speech and it just means that you are very very hairy in places where anyway women are supposed to have hair , eh well, some women are just hairier than others .

If you mean that you have hair growing according to a typical male pattern , so also in areas like back, chest, stomach, face- then you need to see an endocrinologist ASAP.That because your hypertrichosys may very possibly depend from an hormonal imbalance/ excessive production of androgens, which on turn may be the symptom of medical conditions ( like PCOS and many others ). Or, in some cases it is just genetic without any pathological cause, but even so a specialist can give you medications to improve sensibly your condition and keep it under control.

Laser hair removal is a permanent solution for this problem, but you are so young for doing this. It it expensive but it works, I did it for my under arms and legs few years ago and It is few years that I am not shaving anymore. So don't worry about it for now you can wax but you can consider laser in future.

Honeypie agony auntUnless you wax or dry shave hair removal shouldn't hurt or take days.

Yes, your hormone levels will settle. My almost 14 year old gave herself a new nickname, Chewbacca because she went through the same as you. Her advantage is that she has light body hairs, but she is still VERY hairy (got that from her dad, poor girl). She for the most part don't give a rat's behind what others think, but she DOES like to remove the hair from her pits and legs, specially in summer.

Here is the thing though, YOU are still you. Hairy or not.

Not liking body hairs, I get it. But you are not a naked mole rat, ok? It's kinda NATURAL to have body hairs. However, talk to your mom about getting some hair removal cream and do your pits and legs if that makes YOU feel better about yourself.

My daughter and I both use Nair Brazilian Spa Clay Hair Remover Body Cream. I used to get my leg waxed but haven't done that for quite a while and the Nair works pretty well, it keeps the hair at bay and I haven't had any ingrown hairs (those suck). It works really well on the bikini line for summer as well.

The new hair seems to grow back fewer and finer as well. (same when you wax, unlike when you shave.) When you shave they seem to get thicker.

Talk to your mom.
